Just a guess on the one on the right as being a BMW... Not sure about the other yet... but still looking.:D
Edited to correct which bike I meant; however my guess is wrong...

I think you are right on that one... It matches up to a 1936 right down to the tail pipes.

Just a guess on the one on the left as being a BMW... Not sure about the other yet... but still looking.:D
The one o the left is a v twin Greg. Did BMW make anything other than an opposed twin?

I meant on the right -- not the left. At first it looked like an apposing piston engine; however at closer look I believe RedJay nailed that one.

I'm sure the one on the left isn't an Indian!!
Thanks for the info on the 1936 Zundapp, circa!

The one on the left looks like a 1914-1916 Indian.

Seems like everyone made V-twin bikes during the 20's and the 30's.
I wonder if the uncles had a bragging session going on. :hmm:

It may look like an Indian, however the Indian had a leaf spring on top of the front fender, this on does not!
Thanks

Could the bike on the left be a Sunbeam??
glwilson

I looked through all the Sunbeam model years and it is not a sunbeam from what I can see. There are too many differences in the shifter, frame, fork-head, and fenders -- just to mention a few -- from all the Sunbeam models.
There is a logo on the tank of the bike on the left. I have seen something like this before but cannot put my finger on it. The pic is too fuzzy to zoom-in and get a good look at the details.

This link is a pic on Flickr showing a NSU that could be the exact same year/model. So it is a 1924-27 500cc NSU 502T.
You can see several things are the same between the two bikes. The front cut of the front fender. The ridge that runs along the side of the front fender and the bar that extends down to the bottom-back of the front fender. The springs under the seats are the same also. The tank matches; as well as many other details, including the tail pipe.
So for my money; Redjay nailed this one also and it is an NSU motorcycle.

Sorry Jesse, but it is an NSU... Look at two links before your post for the picture. It is a german bike -- specifically the one in the picture link.
