Last night coming home from work was kinda airish almost cold. I had seen over a dozen deer and one nice buck. Well I'm almost to a intersection so I had slowed down some and I thought I saw something in the road. ( it's 11:00 pm ) I let off the gas and was straining to see was it was and then I realized it was not one but two deer walking away from me in my lane. I hit the brake to hard and started sliding but got off brake and tried to go around them to the right. Almost made it but my foot peg on the engine guard caught one of them and flipped it back into me. Lost control for a sec, knocked me off the road into the grass don't know how I kept control but I fought it and stayed up. I stopped and the next driveway and found out my engine guard is bent to my floor board and the peg is gone. It opened my saddle bag but it was to dark to see if anything else was wrong. So this morning I go out and look it has cracked my bag in where the deer hit it. So now I'm like Nico I need a left saddlebag. All I can say is I was lucky it could have been worst.

You are real lucky. I'm glad you're not hurt. The bike should be an easy fix I hope.

Holy cow scoot!! Glad that you are okay. I declared war on deer in another post but I had in mind rifles, shotguns and other various and sundry weapons.......but definitely not our motorcycles.

You say you are missing a peg? Was it a Kuryakyn peg on the case guard? Must have been a real hard hit. I would think that the deer had to have suffered a broken leg. I'm thinking that you need brighter lights. Lots brighter.

I was trying to find a video I had of a guy on a sport bike that gets into a high speed wobble and is totally out of control - flips over the handlebars and everything and manages to hang on and get back in the saddle and keep it up. Its totally unbelievable! I've had several close calls at night with deer and road debris. Since my last one (running over a pipe on the freeway) I don't even ride at night. One night I saw a basketball hoop in the freeway that blew out of someones truck - stand and all laying across 2 lanes! Glad you're ok scoot. Hope the bike gets better soon.

Thanks guys, I do have the brightest light I can lol I think( PIAA Powersports H4 Xtreme White ) plus I have the billet light bar with 2 35 watt bulbs. What made it hard to see was them walkin away from me (no eyes) that end. Thanks again got to get back to work.

Way to hang on Scoot. Dang! I have deer out where I live and came close to having a crash with one in my truck the other day. Glad you're alright. Good luck with the bike.

I hunt deer with archery equipment and rifle. I hear from my buddies all the time that I have no respect for the animal I hunt. Respect my butt, I think they should open the season year round and eliminate every one of them.
I don't ride from dusk to dawn if I can help it. Way to many deer in the roads around central NY dfor me to feel comfortable.
glad your all right scoot.
