Just got back from another 80 mile ride..... on the Shadow... that bike sure if fun.... went with a friend on a Harley Lowrider... keeps right up!!

Ok Here's my daily vent:

As a truck driver the two main things that piss me off are:

#1 The left turners who don't get all the way over into the left turn lane. I'm guessing it comes from a fear of oncoming traffic that they don't want to get hit by - but they fail to realize there is traffic coming up from behind them and the safest place for them is CENTERED in the left turn lane. Come one people - If I can center a big-rig in between two lines I know you can do it in your car!

#2 You wouldn't believe how often this happens but I don't understand why when I am on the freeway and have my left turn signal on to move over a lane (ie if I find myself in an exit only lane), cars coming up from behind me in my lane pass me on the left only to cut right back in front of me and exit. Do they not understand that if they would just stay put, I would get out of their way and then they could go by me in the right lane as fast as they want and they wouldn't have to switch lanes twice to exit! I swear it happens daily!

You know that you're in Salt Lake City when slow people drive in the middle, people pass on the right, and the cars in the left lane are trying to exit!

If you need any help with the Volusia there are a couple guys here along with myself that have had them. Mine was a fuel injected C50. IDaho had a Volusia and ccmjr (I think ) who is also a member here had one or the other. Since it's carbed you can do performance for the price of jets as opposed to $300 (round number) for a PC3. Judi's in Brother.

others say:

130/90-16 front & 170/80-15 rear
(which is what it currently has on it)...... is this right??

It has a Michelin Commander front and Metzeler ME880 rear.

Stopped by the mc shop today.... the Nomad tires came in... ME 880's 150/80-16 WWW Front and the GL1500 160/80-16 Rear

Gotta have them put on..... then the mirror somehow fixed... I think I'm going to have to handle bar mount it for now, since it snapped off the master cylinder unit.....

Then all that's left is straightening the front fender and new saddle bag...... should be good to go!!!

The Cortech Denim Jacket is awesome.... zip open vents in front & back.... took lining out......I was surprised how cool it is!!!

When I first got my Nomad I made a deal to get a discount on anything I ordered at that time to go on the Nad.

I did the same with the Goose, I got an extra set of side panel inserts for the saddlebags on the goose. I had painting done on the panels with cloud burst....my location....Dyersburg TN etc. Got the extra panel incase sell the bike some day ....somebody else might not like the custom paint job with the city/state.

Anyway I also bought an extra set of saddlebag doors for the Nad when I bought it......so I could do the same (although haven't yet).....but to make a long story longer.....Just the new doors for the saddlebags were way up there....don't remember exactly how much since the bike and all was figured in together (can't find the old invoice) but I'm thinking they were around or over $200 bucks (each).

So definitely if you can snag a used Nad saddlebag - I'd grab it!

That's crazy money !!! My kidney transplant was about 300k when it was all said and done but got lucky, between Uncle Sam (retired Air Force) and the insurance from the job at the time... no money out of my pocket... I can NOT image owing that much...

$5 a week and they can't do sh1t.

Now on to another problem you have. Your mirror. Is the stem broken off at the top of the clutch housing or the housing itself broken? Is the nut still there to take off and get at the stem with a vicegrip? If not and the housing is ok you'll need to drill a hole in the middle of the mirror stem and get an ez out in there and unscrew the stem out. Then with a new mirror and locknut you should be fine. If the housing is scuffed you may be able to get chrome covers for both the clutch housing and the brake master fluid housing. Everyone likes chrome. It's a man's favorite color.

Noticed yesterday fan isn't coming on..... overheated once while I left it idling.... something obviously happened during the fall....

Here's a weird one........ the bike wouldn't start in gear with the clutch pulled in........ made a "dead battery" sound... I put it in neutral with clutch still pulled in....... no go. I finally tried in neutral with cutch lever out....... starts fine!!!

Clutch in..... no start... what threw me off was the the "starter" or "dead battery" sound....

I kept messing with the kickstand... then the ignition switch... but finally realized it's definately the clutch lever... makes sense as it fell on the left side.....

Everthing looks intact.. clutch adjustment wheel works fine... maybe it came loose?? I'll examine it with my eagle eye.... if I can find it!! LOL

I guess I'll have to have the shop trouble shoot the fan.... hopefully something just came loose as well... or.... I'll just have an air-cooled engine!
