I was wondering if anyone had dealt with Exile Motorsports.

I'm ordering either this fairing or the Reckless this week.

Exile has some nice looking stuff on their site. http://exilemotorsport.com/

Any pertinent comments will be appreciated.

I have the Reckless fairing on mine and am pleased with it. I don't know anything about this company. That being said, the price is right and from looking at the pictures, the fit seems to appear better aligned than the Reckless fairing. Try it and tell us how it works out.

i have their fairing, the fiberglass is nice very thick. fit and finish is a 7 i would say there were some imperfections in the drilling for the holes that hold the two pieces together. one warning when they say 5 inches for the speaker hole they mean it. took some drimel time to get 5-1\4 speakers to fit. 6-1\2 will not fit. looks like they may have made some changes to the speaker holes my outside speakers are not raised. i put in a marine shield so i had to cut to fit but if you have ever had to cut fiber glass it's not hard. painters tape will keep splintering down. wear a mask.
i would recommend it. got to see the reckless up close at panama city. and it did not look to be better quality.

Before you give them feedback make sure everything is there and the way that you expect it to be. Also, if you have any questions for the seller make sure that you ask them before leaving feedback.

I look forward to hearing your opinion on these fairings. I've looked at these several times but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Good luck.

They sent the wrong one.

I was supposed to get one with 6x9 cutouts and it came with 6.5's.

Did you contact them and send it back?

Did you contact them and send it back?

I sent them an email, but haven't heard from them.

The good thing is that I used paypal and bought it through ebay.

I'll get what I want or get my $$ back and leave horrible feedback!

They won't respond until you start a claim on eBay. As soon as you do that they start kissing your butt until the claim is closed. The 20 percent that they will offer you to keep the faring is the shipping charge. If you decide to keep it go for at least 35 percent discount on it. Make it worth your while or send it back.

not that it matters on a bike as much as it would in a car but a 6.5 is a much bettersounding speaker than a 6x9. is it 2 6.5 cut outs or 4?

plus if you are running an aftermarket radio, which i assume you will be it will be 4 channel, which would make use of a fairing with 4 speakers. you may have to spend a few more bucks on a second set of 6.5s but you will be better off with 4 of those than 2 6x9s.

I doubt that you could fit 2 pairs of 6.5 speakers in to a fairing. There just isn't enough room for them.

I have the cutout for 4 - 5" speakers on mine and I have 4 of the 6.5" Polks sitting here. I ended up putting 4 of the 5" speakers in.

They agreed to take it back for a full refund.

I just happen to have another fairing sitting here.

I need to put another coat of clear on it this afternoon.

The stereo components will be here, part on Thursday and the rest on Friday.

Who knows, maybe I can get it all hooked up and installed this weekend.

The final clear coat is on.

Just waiting for UPS to bring the stereo components.

I should hopefully have this complete tomorrow, if the weather cooperates.

I just dropped mine off at the body shop for paint. Can't wait to get it back and on the bike.

I got it on and all wired up.

I'll try to get some pics soon.

Other than the 5" windshield being too low, I wish I had done this years ago.

I ended up with a fairing that I'm not sure who made.

It has two 6.5" speakers.

The quality isn't there, but after a lot of cutting and grinding, it will be passable. After all is said and done, I probably have about $200 in the fairing, stereo, and all the little things.

Do yourself a favor and buy a quality fairing. The lower priced ones are cheap for a reason.

It took nearly half an hour to bolt the outer on, and that's only 6 bolts.

I would personally recommend buying it already painted and with the stereo installed, unless you like frustrating time consuming work. I have a full day in paint, and at least 8-9 hours for the stereo, all of the cutouts were wrong and had to be resized.

I agree with you, except that I pay myself such a low labor rate. sometimes it makes the stuff you want a possibilly that you would not be able to have otherwise.
