Hit this today...yea!!!

Was an absolutely gorgeous day, only managed about 275 mls today tho managed another 147 mls after this pic was taken.

Skoot is runnin fantastic since I rectified the hydraulic valve adjuster situation due to the oil problem. Didn't realize I was missing some power as it was losing it slowly.

Puttin down A1A tonite I saw 48.5 mpg and overall mpg is much better now.

Prolly ride more tomorrow. Skoot will be 3yo on April 20th, wonder what the mileage will be then???

Congrats, no to start working on the next 50000.

The weekend was great for riding. I have the sunburn to prove it.

Where have you been riding? I'm looking for something different.

Thats awesome. Unfotunately, we are supposed to be getting another 3-6" of powder here tonight..........I am wondering about your Hydro valve/oil issue. Is there another thread on that?

Good for you Ray !!

I'm jealous..... in a way.
As you might know I live where there's 4 seasons and riding snowmobiles is a past time. So that's helping me get through "being without" the Nomad.

So Ray, I am curious, after 50k on the Vaq, have you had to do any major repairs? Just wondering. Also, I have read in other forums about some big issue with a wirefrom the ignition thats under the tank rubbing though the wire shielding and causing a short (killing the engine), and everyone was saying that on the 1700's, you need to pull the tank and tape the wire harness so this doesn't happen, but I haven't seen anything here about it?

I have a 2010 Voyager I bought new in 2012 with 0 miles, it now has 10,000 miles. This winter I have put another 7,000 riding inside the garage....lol. Like to know more also about the oil problem and the hydraulic value problem...Keep racking up the miles and enjoying the rides.:tup::tup:

If you just remove the plastic tank protector and shine a flashlight between the ignition post and left centre of the tank, you will see the wire bundle in question. The wires were rubbing on my Vaq and were showing wear after just 2,500km. I managed to carefully wrap a good amount of electrical tape around the bundle without removing the tank. I think it will be fine now, but will check things out again later in the summer just to be certain.

I also told our local Kaw Dealer about this. They were not aware of the problem and were pleased for the heads up. At some point I'm sure they are going to have a "dead" 1700 come in for this issue. At least now they know what to look for.
