Wife got me the kuryakyn alleycat breather for Christmas and I ordered the Cobra FI2000 fuel management system right after that. Installed both of them today and really like the difference in both appearance and power. I will be taking the cover back off and having it powdercoated black while leaving the screen chrome.

Congrats on the new toys looks good. You will really like the new found power and response you have now. You will only have one problem with all that stuff now, controlling yourself from twisting the throttle to much. Not a bad thing...lol

thanks captj3...yeah its funny how installing new pipes or intakes always seems to lead to worse gas mileage...cant stop twisting that throttle :D

YEP...as I own a Hayabusa that's my go-fast skoot. Makes the Vaq feel like a 250.
With that said I typically ride the Vaq in a sedate manner, putting around. Hardly shift past 3k. Uknow, smellin the roses along the way. Well the other day I was frustrated with traffic so a few times I really cranked into the throttle. I just don't do that on a normal basis so I was very pleased that if and when I want there are some ponies there to enjoy.

Looks good taz. Rain? what rain? I haven't seen any rain in a while...lol Now cold weather (yes guys it's cold to us down here) I can understand. I'm like you I try to ride every day, even if it's just to get something from the store. One day all of us Floridians have to get together.

Taz, I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on the Alley Cat and the Fi2000 PowrPro Tuner but before I do, I just want to know if it's still all good with yours. Were there any installation issues? Sounds like it was easy to do but I only recently started doing work on my own skoot so my learning curve is steeper. How is performance holding up? Sweet powder coat - very cool.

How is the intake noise? Thinking of adding one to my Voyager.

Can someone explain the difference betweent he FI2000 and the FI2000R? The FI2000R is about $175 and the FI2000 is like $435. Whats the difference? They both have very similar descriptions.....can anyone clarify?

Dave that is easy. The FI2000R IE: power pro will auto tune the bike. Nothing to set just plug and play.
The FI2000 has the three pods to adjust.
It all boils down to what you want and don't want to do. I have the power pro with cobra tri ovals and a tornado air kit. All three work great together. There are others out there with similar set ups.

Between this: http://www.amazon.com/Cobra-Fi2000R-PowerPro-Processor-92-1965AT/dp/B004C22WYO/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1392083003&sr=8-5&keywords=cobra+fi2000+kawasaki+1700
and this: http://www.amazon.com/Cobra-Processor-2009-2012-Kawasaki-Motorcycles/dp/B006B2X562/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1392083326&sr=8-6&keywords=cobra+fi2000+kawasaki+1700
It looks like one adjusts multiple times per second, the other is pre-set. But is there really a $300 bang for the buck?

But yes, I get your point. So the better one is hassle free, and automatic. The other one is pre-adjusted, but not "auto-tune".

Bosco, there is definitely more noise, it doesn't bother me though, its a mechanical thing and the noise is just part of it.

Thanks Saint, I actually made the floorboards myself out of 6061 aluminum. I made them a few years back for my 1600 nomad and had them polished to a mirror finish and then clear coat powdercoated. After getting the vaquero I decided to have them powdercoated black and installed them on it.
