Let's talk ethanol for a minute. Apparently gasoline mixed with it has less energy than regular gasoline, in other words you need more to go just as far. Also ethanol exhaust emissions are NOT cleaner than regular gasoline exhaust emissions according to a recent Canadian study. And we are burning up the worlds grain supply for the false idea that ethanol is somehow better so I have started to boycott ethanol. When I pull into a station that sells ethanol I leave and look for one that sells straight gasoline.

So, anyone want to join me? At least in areas not inundated with ethanol everywhere.

I don't think you can avoid it here. Everything is 10~15% alcohol.

Every pump/grade of fuel around here has a decal on it stating "may contain up to 10% ethanol", so can't get around it.

Same here in Phoenix. But I don't disagree with you, Idaho.

I see that sticker on all the pumps here as well. I guess you would have to talk to the gas company's about removing it (not likely). Its probably cheaper for them than real gas to produce.

Usually here premium(91) and regular(87) are not mixed, but regular plus (89) is 10%. I like the idea as much as possible.Burn a mixture of regular and premium and leave the ethanol in the ground when possible.

I agree with you 100%, but such talk would be apostasy in Iowa. That and being against CRP and subsidies. And they think they are conservative too, but I digress. I think the farmers are making out ok with things the way they are and that's the gist. It's like being against welfare and affirmative action and living in an inner city. Nothing ever changes. Big oil, big corn, big socialism. Good luck and good night.
