Racnray throttle mod (my thoughts)

Really like this mod. It makes the bike perform like it should. Love being able to throttle it and it goes. If you haven't done this mod you are missing out. Well I think it's money well spent. david

It really surprises me that K would put a bike out there that needs this adjustment.
All of there other bikes I have ridden were instant power.

MANY THANX...I too was scratchin my coconut during the first miles, wonderin what the heck was goin on with my 1700.
I rode the Indian Cheiftain a few weeks ago and it responds the same way, ya really gotta give it some throttle to get it goin, and even tho the engine makes monster torque, ya gotta really roll on that throttle to access it.

Isn't this mod just shortening the twist distance? There's no actual power increase, just less wrist travel required to roll it on? And while I'm asking questions, it seems to me that shortening the rotation distance stands to make the bike more 'twitchy' in situations where you desire a steady-throttle, like parking lot maneuvers.

Many have commented on how much BETTER throttle control is with my mod. Most have commented on a reduction in the "herky-jerkiness" prevalent in the 1700's. I perform a machining operation on my mod that provides the improvement in throttle control. Mnay have stated that low speed parking lot type riding is improved. I had no problems in that area with my Vaq, my mod was to improve throttle responce on the RBW 1700's. The improvement in throttle control is an added benefit.

I did the DIY PVC pipe version of this mod on both my Kuryakyn grips and then the Avon grips I had on the Nomad. The Voyager came with Kury's (unmodified of course), so I swapped them over.

Very noticeable improvement for the Voyager.

id-man - I'm not sure parking lot manoeuvers are best carried out without feathering of the clutch and riding of the rear brake being the most important features? Throttle plays a secondary role, and you'll soon come to grips (heh heh) with the shorter throttle range anyway.

Not really. It really makes handling the bike a lot easier. I was wondering myself how it was going to do in slow parking lot. To me it is way better and real smooth. You will not regret doing this I promise.
