Got the Reckless fairing on today. I put it on the Nomad wired it up ,radio turns on and.......no sound.>: So I had to take fairing apart and found the wires going into the amp were not tightened down. So I tighten them up and boom music.:D WOOHOO. Took a short ride and I am loving this thing. I got the fostgate amp and it is loud and clear. I will be riding some more this weekend to test it out on the hwy. I also need to put my lowers back on lots of air blowing upwards. The sstock risers are actually touching fairing and scratched the paint a bit, sad but you cant see it unless you look under there so no big deal. Riding around the music sounds great. The bluetooth hooked up to my phone and works great. The color match is perfect from reckless. Looks different in pic because the sun was right on it.

The fairing looks good.
Did you let Reckless know that the stock risers hit the fairing?

Thanks everyone for the comments. I went for a ride tonight only about 60 miles. Mostly in traffic. The Infinity radio with the 4 speakers and amp is really good. Very clear at 70mph. Tomorrow I will do some more hwy riding see how it sounds at 75-80. My wife told me it was too loud on hwy. I had to turn it down. So I took
My wife to a her meeting for work and dropped her off. Then I took a ride into city. Took this pick from 3rd ave and 31st. My Nomad has almost achieved zen. Really nice riding with the fairing. It was50 degrees out tonight and with the lowers, soft lowers and fairing I was sweating. Had to pull over and take my jacket off. Enjoy the pic.

Thanks! Thinking of taking out the two tone and going all red. Or maybe just get the bottom of the saddle bags painted like the 2014 Nomad. I didnt like the black and white 2014 at first but it grew on me.

It looks great. I installed mine about 2 months ago and really love it. I added the Fast Aire re-curve shield. It looks good, works great and fits right.

I cut out center of air cleaner with a dremel tool. Took my time. Then I got some red plexi from ebay cut it to size and used 3m double side tape. The skull is an auto decal.

I have a small tour pack that I attach to my luggage rack with some wing nuts. On and off in about 2 minutes.

Riding at 85 mph last night had infinity radio volume at 40 out of fifty and it is clear and loud enough to listen to with face shield down. It got cold last night and I am happy I went with the 10 in apes as the fairing is protecting most of hand from the wind, but still going to need heated gloves as it gets in the 30s. Wind protection is really nice the only thing that got cold was my finger tips. As I was riding on highway on a Saturday night I honk my horn briefly every 25 minutes or so to make sure that my wife is awake, so I hit horn button 2 beeps 2 seconds each and my stebel air horn is on same accessory fuse and it blows the fuse. So I will be wiring the horn direct to battery with the recomended 30 amp fuse inline. Dont want to wire radio direct because then it could go on while motorcycle is turned off and I end up stuck somewhere with dead battery. So that part of radio is on acc 15 amp fuse which seems to work fine with radio except amp is sugested to have a 30 amp fuse. So I guess we will see how it goes.

What size Fast Aire did you get. I am 5 10 and the 8in reckless windshield is good for me but if the recurve works a little better may consider one. They do look pretty cool.

How about using a power relay for the radio and amp?

Im not that good at wiring things. I have a relay on the horn but not on radio. So what I am saying is I dont understand how a relay works. I will give it a shot though. Just need to look it up.

Get yourself an aux fuse block and a relay at AutoZone or some other car place. Installing the fuse block and relay is not very difficult. I can walk you through it. The hardest part was finding a place to put the fuse block. I put mine in the right side under the cover.
After you have the fuse block in anything that you add will just come off the fuse block and won't come on until the bike is started.

O.k. just read about the relay. Simple enough and that is the way I will do it.

I have a fuse box installed but it was running off the acc line under seat with no relay. So I should run fuse box direct to battery but with a relay correct? The 86 lead goes to acc so it is only on when ign or acc is on.Then anything running from fuse box has its own fuse. Am I on the right track?

Thanks for the responses people. I have done about 300 miles with the fairing and I cant get enough of it. I used some stain glass spray on my lowers yesterday and think they look pretty cool almost same red as paint.

You should run the relay direct from the battery and then run a wire from the relay to the fuse block. You would use the acc under the seat to trip the relay. This way the fuse block is not live until the relay gets tripped.

This is the wiring for the relay.
Attach a wire from the positive battery terminal to #30 on the bottom of the relay
Attach a wire from #87 on the bottom of the relay to power the fuse panel.
Attach a wire from #86 on the bottom of the relay to the acc under the seat.
Attach a wire from #85 on the bottom of the relay to ground.
Now your fuse panel is hooked up.

Got it. Thanks for the help. I did not understand before what relays do. Now I get.

To all,
If you're in need of a wiring set up, I highly recommend this man's site: Eastern Beaver.
http://easternbeaver.com/Main/main.html
I've purchased many products from him and all are top quality and very well constructed.
Both my bikes have fuse panels and the relay set-up from this site.
It makes it so easy. Battery to his relay set up to the fuse panel. Then everything you add, heated gear/gps/phone, whatever gets installed on the fuse panel.
Just a suggestion,
Sight Seer

It's cheaper to get the parts at an auto supply store and install them. It's an easy install that takes very little work to install a relay and fuse panel.

You are correct, but some people want a more or less turn-key solution and are willing to pay more for that. Electrical work is intimidating to some folks.

You're still plugging the same things in. You're just not crimping on a couple of connectors.
Strip ends on piece of wire and crimp on connector. Nothing difficult.
