I had this done with all my sportbikes so I was wanting to do it to the vaquero and clean up the back end.. http://www.flashalert.com/ they have said it looks like it will work no problem but there is one issue they are kinda afraid to try to crack it open because it might break. we all know that L.E.D. light aren't made to be opened but they have never done one of these lights and just aren't sure. so if they have an issue they cant get me a replacement. kinda sux but they gave me the choice to chance it or not. I chose no for now...does anyone out there know where or possible have stock taillight they wanna give up. or maybe one of you guys are willing to let these guys try it...

they are a stand-up place I have been dealing with them for a long time now...

I've seen guys open up factory lights before. They heat the assy in an oven (normally the kitchen oven, which gets them in trouble with the mrs). The temp is pretty warm. Enough to soften the glue that holds it together. Then pry a little, then re-heat, pry a little, repeat until it's off.
Re-assembly is easy with some good epoxy glue.....

But I've never done it personally.

so what are most of you guys doing with the turn signals on the back if ya remove the stuff on the rear?

I have to ask why you would want to do this? As we all know, for safety the object is to make yourself visible to others. Why would you want to do anything to reduce your visibility to other vehicles from the rear? Yeah, I know it probably looks cool.

I know your right but I wanna clean up the back end. I like the looks of it much better.. I have been on sportbikes and I have always had the turn signals intergrated and I wanted to do the same to this bike.. I love the look of a clean rear end..

It's a vaquero, so it can only be a 2011, 2012 or 2013 which I imagine all have the same tail light.

I did a smoked film on the tail light, and some modified GoldWing lights for my run/brake/turn lights

I like that a lot. I want to do the same to my bike.now. Did you have to drill into the plastic trim on the right side fore the wire, or is it running through the seam?
