i have an 04 nomad with about 20,000 miles and it had 18,000 when i got it a few moths ago. I am planning on doing some things this winter and would like some tips... this is what i am thinking since i do not what has been done and not done.

1. change the coolant (what should i use)
2. will be replacing the rear tire..... what all should be greased or lubed when that is done?
3. what about the break/clutch fluid??? think i might change it too

what else should i check or do while i have the tank off and the rear tire off?

how often do the break pads ware out?
where can i get a spare key made?

Ride it. That's what I do.

If you haven't already done so, change every fluid. Clutch, brakes front and rear, coolant, oil and final gear oil. W the rear tire off service the swing arm, drive shaft and check the u joint. When you change the front tire check and service as necessary the steering stem bearings. Your brakes should be good for a good while yet but checking for yourself can't hurt. Enjoy it. It's a sweet ride

manban gave you a good list. I would check out this thread on the swing arm service

I would also seriously think about checking the steering stem bearings on a bike that is nine years old. They will at the least need some new grease.

Go to a locksmith store for the key.

Fill the gas tank and add stabilizer, check the coolant and put it on a battery tender.
In the spring, change the oil and filter and ride the hell out of it.
