Has anyone on here powercoated their exhaust heat guards? I called a few local places to ask about this and most of them said they wanted to know the temp the guards got. I don't have the slightest idea how hot these things get so they told me they don't so anything exhaust related if they not sure of temp. So does anyone know how hot the guards get or have them powercoated with no problems? I do have the actual pipes wrapped in exhaust wrap already.

I've done it. You need the "high temp Cerakote" which comes in two series versions "C" which is air cured and "V" which is oven backed. I was told that "C" series is more resilient so I went with that and was charged $260 to do all shields and both mufflers in "Cerakote C series". It is good up to 1800 degrees.

Can you post the information of the company that did this for yo
.. I was going to get mine done in ceramic coat and was told by the company I
Was doing business with , that the chrome had to be removed...... Not! Sanded or blasted . But removed completely with acid .

You were misinformed. The process of dechroming is very complicated and as a matter of fact not necessary. They blast it to make the top layer ruff so that cerakote sticks but nickel and other plating remains underneath. Just google "ceracoting exhaust" and I am sure you'll find tons of local companies that do it. I live in NJ so had it done by one of the local shops here. This is company that did mine: http://www.gsdcoatings.com/cmsms/gsd-coatings/exhaust-coatings.html
