Hello everyone.
I am looking for some info about availability to replace the factory heel toe shifter.
Does an aftermarket exist? I am currently on the fence to buy a Vaquero because I found the heel toe shifter too tight for my foot.
My VTX has loads of room to move your feet around. I actually hit the shifter trying to move my feet on the Vaquero. Also is there a replacement foot brake available is well?
I am torn between a Vaquero and a Vic Cross country. The CC has great floor boards and, the shifter and brake are small, which I like.

The shifter, brake and floor boards are really holding me back from buying a Vaquero. The rest of the bike is great, but for ME, this is a real issue.
I am having a difficult time finding aftermarket support for the Vaquero.

Thanks for any info you guys have, as this will really impact my decision on whether I buy a Vaquero.

You know the shifter can be adjusted so your foot can slide under it and forward. I had my dealer do this for me as I had a hard time sliding my foot under it to shift. At the same time when they raise the front the heel is lowered and level with the floor boards. Also you can have the shifter reversed to upshift when hitting it down. They just have flip the bar on the linkage.

I thought the shifter on the Nomad was just about ergonomically perfect (once I adjusted it to my liking). I honestly miss that on my Victory.

As I have searched the forums, the repositioning may be an option, however there was comments about heel shift hitting floor board mount and not working properly.
I have considered cutting the shifter, and adding extensions. what I found was that I had to keep my toes turned way out to get them clear in order to shift.

I have also figured I may mount some RF replacement XC floorboards to the Vaquero to increase the size of the boards and give it a bit more swept style.
As for the brake, I am trying to figure out how to take a vic xc brake peg to replace the huge pedal.

Thanks for the help, and any other suggestions or vendor info would be great.

As much as I love my Victory (I have a Vision, not a XC, but it's the same basic bike), I'm not overly impressed with the shifter/brake. I replaced the brake peg with a larger pedal and plan on doing the same with the shifter peg.

We had at least one rider that cut the brake pedal pretty much in half and was pleased with the results. And I have read of a handful that have taken the controls to a local welding shop and had an "extension" welded in. They obviously will have to be either powder coated or chromed afterward, but again, those folks were happy with the "home remedies!"

On my Vaquero the former owner cut the heel pedal of the shifter flush off and looks good. It seems much more comfortable than the cramped heel toe shifter

I was having the same problem with my Vaquero. Adjusted it myself this afternoon so the heel is lower. Also moved the rear brake peddle up some. Much more room to move my feet on the boards now.
