I'm not sure if it is the same spacing, but just try and install the wheel. You may need the spacers from either bike, and make sure the dual disc brakes will line up with the caliper. You may have to change the forks as well for the brakes to mount correctly.
Its best if you have both bikes sise by side, and compare.

I think Steve may be right. I'm just going by a thread a while back about a guy wanting to do something similar including switching the fork tubes, but the trees were different spacing or something.

The 1500 Classic, and the 800 Classic, use the same front end, except the 800's fender is plastic. The wheels will not fit off a Nomad, unless you use the Nomad forks, and triple tree.

I understand that the rear wheel is a easy swap but the front isn't...........dual brakes etc.....

the spacing between forks is a little different - you are better off doing a full swap with trees, wheel and forks, brakes, etc but then is it worth it ?
