I took a ride to Provincetown for lunch with a friend today. It was a couple of hundred miles round trip. On the way down my oil light (the red light) came on. I pulled over and checked the oil and it was full. The light hasn't come back on since checking the oil.

Anyone have any idea what would have caused the light to come on? I know the bike has to go in for the factory recall on the ECU. I'm not sure if this is related to it.

Mine came on once during a heavy rain, I assume the connection got wet at the sender, I cleaned off some corrosion and its been fine ever since.

I'll give that a look and see if there is anything there. If not, I'll have the shop track it down. The bike is under warranty until January 2014.

Could be the sender is acting up.

Check the wire going from the sender for chafing, if the wire is chafed and touches ground, it'll make the light come on.

Thanks everyone.

It;s getting dropped off at the shop for them to fight with since it has a warranty.
