Kawa dealer told me awhile back that the choke on our fuel injected bikes is actually a knob hooked to a small electronic board that just enriches the fuel mixture when pulled out. He also said that some Nad owners put spacers behind the knob to hold it out a little when putting on aftermarket pipes to richen up the fuel mixture. Anyone heard of this or done it? Dave

OMG! Find a new dealer. Quick.

That knob just goes to the throttle, and when you pull it it just opens the throttle a little, just like if you opened it by hand.

I'll find you a link to the REAL spacer mod page. The spacer goes on the throttle stop.

I added a wee peice of tubing on the linkage, now the "choke" works like it should have from the factory. It is much better at idling when cold now. That dealer doesn't sound very bright, to give you that information.

Yeh, What the all said. It's no really a "choke", It just opens up the throttle a little by moving the throttle off the idle stop on the intake. I think you sould find another mechanic as well too!!!!!!

I must live right.I never use that knob on either bike.I tried it when I first got the Meanstreak and did not like the high idle. Now I just start em and let em idle for a minute before I ride. Works fine for me.
