For anyone planning on riding over Wolf Creek Pass to the rally. It is now closed due to a large fire in the area.

Thanks Joel. I have been watching the smoke plumes and active fires the last couple of days. I'll go from Chandler to Farmington tomorrow. On Sunday, Framington through Silverton and Ouray to Delta, hang a right on 92, etc., to Glenwood Springs and then on to Dillon. Monday is one of the wildcard days, I thought maybe highway 6 leaving Dillon, rather than going through the tunnels. I have been through them more than once. Then decide whether I wanted to go through Rocky Mountain National Park or Nederland and the Peak-to-Peak run.

Packed and ready to go. Looking forward to getting out of the heat. The way it is going with the various fires, CJ and I shouldn't have to change our respective routes more than a dozen or so more times. :D

This is the fire complex Joel is talking about. It is going to ruin some good MC riding.

Here is a picture of the fire that has closed Wolf Creek Pass. This fire is bearing down on the small town of South Fork. It has burned roughly 42,000 acres.

Damn, that looks more like a supercell storm than smoke from a forest fire! Crazy!

Good thing it's not North Fork. Lucas would be pissed.

For someone like me who sees the reports on the news but never really grasped the gravity of the situation, that pic really brings it home. Thank you and I pray that those people get out and have something to come home to....
