I purchased & Installed this trunk last week. The lites are for turn signal & brake lites only, no tail lites. What I did was splice the two turn signal leads together & wired them to the bike's tail lites. The lites are all LEDs & not too bright. The trunk itself is thin & the top rattles as you go down the hiway. I'm going to get some sort of weather stripping to make the fit tighter. It took me about 2 hours to install & wire the lites. The passenger back rest does not cover all of the front of the trunk, only about the top 1/4. All in all, it's not bad for the money. -Rich

That appears to be a Mutazu DB trunk. Here's a gallery of lots of them on different bikes...DB trunks (http://www.mutazu.com/gallery.php?slideid=8) There's a few Nomads in there.

I bought one of those trunks, and after I put it on, just to see what it looked like, I took it off and sold it to a friend with a Yammey 650. It looks good on a smaller bike (and really looks good on her's) http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif. I just didn't think it was large enough for the Nad. You can fit 2 half helmets, or 1 full face helmet in it. All in all, it is a good looking trunk, just wasn't large enough to suit my tastes. http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif

Maybe. I wear a open face helmet & I have to turn it on it's side to close the lid. It will fit 2 skid lids or 1/2 helmets. -Rich

Hey John, got it off E-Bay. It was in perfect condition, two-tone blue (but the wrong shades of blue ???). I had some paint left over from when I tried the '89 Yamaha venture trunk, so I refinished it to my Nad's colors. I think I gave about $413 for it. It didn't have the backrest, speaker pods, or keyed lock with it. I think the Venture trunk blends well with the Nomad's lines, But the HD tour pak is a little bigger, and a lot more comfortable on the Misses http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif. Oh yeh, you have to have a wompus rack to mount it to. ;)

I think the late model venture trunk looks better.

Ponch,
What year was the Venture that the trunk came off of? I had a 98' Venture. Nice size I think. I couldn't find one like that for the Nomad. It was my 1st choice. But no luck. I Loved that 98 Venture.
My trunk on the Nomad came from a 84'. I think it looks OK, and I can fit a half and a full face in it. If there is nothing else, or very little, on the side of the full face.

jrd,
CactusJack was correct. It is a Mutuza trunk
I thought of buying one of those trunks myself, until I saw it on a bike at the local shop. Very flimsy and fragile. Small to. I went with an 84 Venture trunk. Any way I sent a link by way of a PM to my photobucket acct.. See what you think Let me know if the link doesn't work for you.I'll email it to you if you xend your "addy" to me.

Misunderstood, It's a 1986 model. I think from 1985 up to the early '90s are the same. The reason I went to the HD trunk was so I could mount speakers on it. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Definately looks better, but I'd be afraid of the cost of one IF I could find one available. http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif
