You should get the wrap-around backrest and your wife would really be happy. That's the same trunk that I have mounted on my bike. The wife is real happy with the setup. She gets so comfortable that she sometimes falls asleep on our trips to the mountains.

Yeah, I have that on the list, next will be her some floor boards. I have a buddy that loves to piddle with things, he is trying to figure out a way to make some cheap but useful armrest for her.

That looks good on the Vaq. As much as I think the HD Tour Pak is the bees knees, I think it might look too big on the Vaq.

The problem with the floorboards we had was they hit me in the back of the legs when two up. But if you want them watch on ebay for take offs from a Voyager. The mounts bolt right on.

What trunk is it and does it use the quick detach method?
Looks great! Wouldn't mind looking into it for longer hauls.

Thanks all.
Its not a quick detach, I have it mounted on a wompus rack. The trunk came from an ebay dealer and seems pretty solid. I got the lower back rest, a trunk bag and a light bar with it as well. BTW, The wompus rack looks just as good on the bike alone lol.

I love the look of the bagger shield as well but for the life of me I can not get the top shield to stay on, it keeps popping off no matter what I try. If it does stay it is loose and I am afraid it will fly off. So I dunno, thinking of just getting some of those squeeze together clamps to slide over the rubber bushing to hold it on.

I had one of those and now a friend of mine has one on his Honda. Just make sure you lock the latch because from bouncing it will open going down the road if not locked.

Mutazu makes these trunks and they are resold all over the internet. They have a very distinctive appearance.

It could be then, I dunno. If it isnt its hella close lol because it looks like one for sure. Odd that they would wholesale them out to someone who is selling them cheaper than they do.
They are $99 (limited only) and 30 bones for shipping. I paid 109, free shipping and got a trunk bag and light bar with it. They are getting their many for sure but you would think they would say "whoa whoa...you cant sell them cheaper than us"

Someone here once posted you can buy the trunks in quantity from China for a few $ each. They are still making money at $99.

Yup. If they can make them for $25 and sell them (in quantity) to resellers for $50, the resellers can sell them for $100 and everyone makes money. I think Mutazu only sells them to keep up a web site. I doubt many actually buy direct.

Took the wife out on it for the first time with the trunk. She loved it, and is already talking about places we should go for a 2-3 day trip.

Check with oldbikers about the armrests. He made some for his bike at one time.

Looks good. Did you have it painted or was it already black and how well does it match the bikes color? That does look like the Matazu trunk. http://www.mutazu.com/products.php?cat_id=1&menu=DMY I also got one of those and mounted it to the KQR rack. I haven't taken any one on my bike with it on but the trunk seems kind of flimsy and I would recommend the passenger not push against it too hard if it were me.

It was more like $5 each in quantity. They are incredibly cheap.

I think before I took someone too far on the back I'd beef up the the inside.

The trunk was really solid and not flimsy at all. I didnt have to paint it, it came like that. I can grab the corners and twist it left and right as hard as I can and it does not give. Perhaps its where I have it to mounted to a solid plate and not a rack?

I wonder if those of us that bought the backrest can adapt a trunk to it safely? I have a trunk like that from my 900.

The trunk looks nice. Just went to ebay and I didnt see any hinges in the pictures. Does it have hinges and if it does are they plastic or metal? I have a friend with a Harley, so I will get the dimensions from his tour pack to compare it to this one. Just courious if it is close to the same size...

I have just purchased a Voyager trunk and will be getting with a buddy to see if we can make a bracket for the KQR. The Voyager mounting system won't work. The trunk will only be on for longer trips...solo Corbin seat for "ME" time! My wife doesn't like the short backrest that the Vaq has. Making her more comfortable equals more ride time together. The passenger floorboard placement on this bike is also much better than on the 1700 Classic.

I think it has a metal rod sliding through abs for hinges. I will double check latr and let you know for sure.

Did you put a rubber or other dampening material between the rack and the trunk?
The holes in the trunk where you put the bolts thru will stress crack over time if you didn't put some type of dampening between the trunk and the rack.
A friend of mines did that and we repaired it with JB Weld and put some rubber between the mount and all is good now. No more cracks after 2 years.

I am very interested in this, just bought a fiberglass trunk from http://www.a1hardbags.com/. I wentbwith fiberglass as the plastic trunk ha was on he bike when i got it, and i found that he had not beefed up the mounting holes and hey were breakng. The Quality is good, hinges, and hardware match my neighbors HD exactly tour pack exactly. Just working on mounting.

I didnt put the rack on the trunk, I might add it if/when I will use it but for now I dont need it.

Do you have pics of the trunk mounted on the kqr rack?
