Does anybody have any experience with this type of backrest? I have installed grab rails and I am worried about clearance issues.
Thanks, Bill

Does it run close to the passenger seat or is it out a ways? If I try for it, I want to make sure the better half has room to use the grab bars I just installed.

How much room do you need for the rail?? I can measure mine.........Rich
The kawasaki website shows them together on the same bike. Here's the photo:

speed.. I found that I had to use a few washers on the front end of the grab rails so they would clear the backrest chrome. As you can see on mine, I reversed the grabrails cause my wife likes the position more and the follow the lines of the bike better. Also, if you go to a Mustang seat at some time, you will need to space the rear mouting bracket on the passenger seat up with a few washers to make it work with that backrest. Not a big deal and works fine... :)

Like CaddmannQ says. But also I have it on my Nomad. The grab rails and the Fire and Steel backrest. Works fine.
Before i bought my 08 I had the wife sit on the back of an 04 that I was thinking about. It had the drivers back rest like the one on the picture. and she didn't like it at all that it would bother her short legs.

Buy it. It will fit and your wife will have no problem with room to sit. My wife holds on to the back rest.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I have mine turned so they angle back anyways, figured it looked better. Will have to see what it sells for, I am also wanting the WOC fairing. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
