I am working on the attendies list. Unfortunately I can't attach the file but I will work on it and get it up ASAP. It is too large for an attachment.

Seems the size limit on this site is far less than a couple others I frequent. Maybe I am wrong, but I continually am not able to attach some files that I don't think are all that big (compared to the norm).

Maybe the Admin can give you more capability for the rally Joel... who knows?

The file is over 230 kb and the limit is something like 25 kb so it is over. I did send Mike an email so we shall see what happens. By the way, nice to spend 4 hours moving snow around today. We have around 14 inches standing but don't know how much melted when it started.

That size of file isn't that big in my book. Heck a decent spreadsheet is going to be that big of a file.

It must cost more for capacity to allow for larger files... or something.

If you have a Mac, you could try to save it as a pdf-file and post it...

Oh well...

Being a newbee here, What kind of attendance do you get at these rallies? or does it vary depending on location? I've had a trip planned to ride solo out to Des Moines right before the rally and think I could swing over for a few days. It's probably a 700 mile day to get there. Hoping I can catch a group to ride with.

The rallies vary....depending on if they are Regional or National. The National is every other year, so Regionals are during the off year. This year is a National Rally, so I would expect well over 100 people in attendance at Estes Park...just a guess. They are all a great time and for sure you will find people to ride with!

There is a group meeting in Lincoln, NE for the ride to the National. Some of those folks will be coming through Des Moines.

Ck this out.

Right now there are about 115 people attending. Once I figure out how to put the file up you can see who's going.

The 250 kb is as a pdf. I may try to do something else or find someone who has access to storage and utilize that.

You could open a Drop Box account, it is free. https://www.dropbox.com/ They allow a public folder that you can upload the pdf to. Also create a public link that anyone, even those with out Drop Box, can open the pdf.

I did the last pdf to my own Drop Box to show you how it can work.

Tim. Is it set in stone that you are not going to Estes Park? If I can remember long enough I'll be making reservations for it this weekend. Theses things are every two years, and by the next one happens you'll be 93, and I won't see you unless we hold one in The People's Republic of NY. By that time motorbikes will be banned from the state!

And another one bites the dust....
I've sent off an email to Joel letting him know that I've canceled my room at the Roadway Inn. Unfortunately, due to the lack of vacation time I've acquired at work because of the time I've been off on Workers Comp. I'm going to be unable to make the rally. That, along with issues pertaining to my orig. injury back in 2010 it makes it more and more difficult for me to spend long stretches/days in the saddle of the Nomad. And taking breaks every 2 hours to stretch and walk about isn't conducive to an enjoyable trip when you only have so much time. There is also a Workers Comp. tribunal court appearance that I'll likely be making in regards to a medical appeal ongoing, in my claim for disability. That date could be any time now and could fall during the time of the rally.
So like I said, I'm bowing out of this one. I'm disappointed and frustrated that I'll be missing another National Rally. I know that those of you who are going will have a great time. These things always are a hoot. I hope that I'll be able to make the next one. Have a good time and ride safe everyone.

Hey all. Well I think I can attend the National afterall! I have to attend a wedding on the 22nd so I am planning on leaving the 23rd. Not sure if I will ride the 1216 miles in one day or two.

I still have one business issue that I won't know about until the week prior but hopefully it won't fall on that week.

I am only planning on attending Monday and Tuesday nights and will be leaving Wednesday so no Thursday dinner for me.

I made my hotel reservations at the Rodeway accordingly.

If anyone was delaying cancelling their room on my behalf no need to hold out any longer and thank you if you waited.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

She's staying, ergo I go. Or being sent!

When we first got Married her Mama spent the weekend with us and brought some vodka with her to make some White Russians. My wife told her to drink what she like but keep it in her room before I got home because she didn't want me to get into it. Mama ask her why, "Dose he get mean and abusive when he drinks?" My wife said, "No, the son of a bitch gets so damn funny I can't stand him!" :D

Mama in law told me that many years after that happened.
I told her that I do have drunken faint memories of seeing her through squinted eyes trying to stifle a laugh, and fight off, or cover, a smile while trying to frown. :D

Being a member and being an active member, are two very different things. Just look at the forum....for the most part it is the same bunch all the time with a few new guys chiming in here and there.

New members probably feel they would not fit in....but nothing could be further from the truth. I didn't really know anyone when we rolled into the first VBA National in Custer in 2009. You're right. That's pretty low participation, but it's pretty typical. In previous years (before Mark Clark moved to AZ), there would have only been 2 attending from AZ. There are a lot of members in AZ I have never even met. I guess they're staying inside where it's air conditioned and don't come out until October.

At this time it looks doubtful that I will be able to make the National Rally. I work for FEMA on a part time basis and we are very active at the present time. In years gone by I could “protect” 60 days per year where I could not be activated. That is how I have attended past rallies. But, I had to use all of that time after my surgery in January and cannot now “protect” any dates. I am currently working in South Dakota and when I am finished here I am almost sure that I will be sent to OK. As such I am canceling my reservations at the base hotel.

Sent pm to Waterman and cancelled my room at the Rodeway at Estes in case anyone needs a room. This sucks as I had this planned for a long time and was gonna ride 2up w my oldest son and spend a month seeing this beautiful country of ours. I was also looking forward to meeting you all as I had a great time at Antlers but my wife broke her leg pretty bad a couple of weeks ago w 2 plates and 20 screws to fix it. I thought I could still make it if she was getting round but I gotta take care of my girl. I'm still going to the SE rally and Antlers too and hopefully be able to take a week or 2 trip w my son later in the summer. I hope to make the next national and as many rallies as I can get away with. I hope you guys have a blast and safe travels

I hope you guys have a blast and safe travelsI hate this, because Manny had been looking forward to traveling and the National Rally since last October. I had the pleasure of finally a few phone calls and several PM's meeting him in Antlers. He's a retired NYPD copper and a typical New York City kind of guy if you have ever had the fortune to meet one.

He was going to come anyway in spite of his wifes broken leg. I'm glad better judgment set in.:yep:

I was kinda looking forward to him paying for everything again. He always buys all the food and picks up the bar tab.
