Lookin for info on this road. It is also called highway 119. It is figured into a trip I have planned while at the rally.
Is it real trecreous? It looks very curvy with a bunch of switchbacks. What would be a safe speed to ride it at?

I's a pretty easy ride. Not that technical at all. I lived in Loveland, CO for 10 years and have been on this stretch along with about everything in the area multiple times. The road gets up to a maximum altitude of around 9300 feet so in June, it will be completely accessible.

"Trecreous" I think you just invented a new word!

I plan to ride the same highway after I leave Estes Park to go home.

It is a nice scenic ride. The speed limits are reasonable and I pay attention to them rather than pushing it. Even though it takes a little longer, I prefer the route to the freeways around Denver. Mike is correct, not too technical however like anything else it can bite you if you're not paying attention.

I am thinking of a day ride down to Mr. Evans. Peak to Peak would take me that way.

Has anyone see a posting of the suggested day rides?

:lmao: Spell check didn't catch that one. Usually I can spell a word anyway I want and the spell check will underline it in red if it is wrong. You can believe I see many red underlined words.

Thanks for the information guys

It's similar speeds and riding style to what you ride in your back yard.

Tim,

The peak to peak is a really nice ride. Not any switchbacks that I can remember. A few of the canyon rides do but they aren't bad. Just take it easy and you'll be ok. The route up to estes on highway 34 (Thompson Canyon) has some but not bad.

If you ride the planned rides at National you will have the option to spend a lot of time on the "Peak to Peak" highway. The Mt. Evans ride includes it, the Canyon Blast does part of it, the Coors tour to name a few. Also it can be part of arriving or leaving the Rally. If you want to take a quick trip to Blackhawk, Central City for Casino action or meals it is the way back and forth.

I'm arriving by way of rt 34 so a little north of the Peak to Peak.
P 2 P is part of the ride I am considering to the Garden of the Gods. Yes I know that is damn near a 400 mile ride but when leaving the rally I am headed north to see Mt Rushmore and Sturgis as well as the crazy Horse mountain thing.

TC....you are back IN for the rally, eh? Good to hear! You must have found the big-boy chaps your woman hid from you....:lmao:. Just joshin' ya...but I'm glad to hear you plan to make it. At least then you will be able to hear a few of us brag about our new Victory's over a cocktail and fine cigar, instead of on this here Kawasaki Forum....:D:yep::D...!

Yeah Kris, Cindy needs to find better hiding places. She works nights and sleeps in the day time so I have plenty of time to look for the stuff she hides on me :yep: Did I ever mention on here I'm retired :tehe:
The main reason I want to attend is to see if you guys bragging about your Victory's are as boring in person as you are on this forum :lmao:

Maybe you should pick up Loafer on your way...he too is apparently retired.... You guys could be like "Wild Hogs" on a big road trip....maybe even get a couple "Sons of Arthritis" patches to sew on your vests. I can see you guys now....instead of rolling into each new town looking for the first biker bar, you'll both be craning your necks looking for the first Rite-Aid....:lmao::P:lmao:!!

You will get old someday kris. See how funny it is then http://www.vulcanbagger.com/forums/images/icons/ornwink.gif

Actually I think Loafer and I discussed him riding out with Cindy and me.
He lives further away than we do. Not alot of members from this far east going I don't think.

Thats why none of us West Coasters made it to Maggie Valley. I think it was like a 5400 mile round trip for me....:ohno:.
