Got the Harley fairing mocked up today, I think its going to look OK. Just waiting on Lee to get me my brackets. It can be installed by drilling the windshield at the top where the three bolts go and fab some brackets for the wings to the 2 last windshield bolts. It would be easy but I'll wait for Lee. Once those come and I get it back from the paint Shop, we'll be good to go!

The fairing came from a motorcycle swap meet. Its off an 07 and only had that one small scuff that you can see in the pic. 80 bucks! There 266.00 at the H.D. dealer un-painted.

Dang that's sharp. Can't wait to get one on mine. $80 was a steal.

That'll look AWESOME when you "get-er-done", Nothing like tooling down the highway listening to your favorite tunes!

More important (to me, at least) than the ability to listen to tunes, what does a fairing do for buffeting?

The buffeting for me is cut down to just above nill, like riding in a car with the window down. I am a smoker http://s2.images.proboards.com/lipsrsealed.gif, and I have no problems lighting-up and smoking going down the road. I do have the electric cig lighter mounted in the fairing, and have the Kury dragon wings on the sides. The wings can be opened and closed thru 4 positions, so you can have as much, or little air flow as you want. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I've been thinking about a fairing like that for a long time, but so much of my riding is in-town that I'm not sure a bar-mounted fairing is the best idea. Maybe at the rally I'll con somebody into letting me try out a fairing-equipped Nomad.

You've decided to go??

I was always intending to go. I just finally got my wife excited about going too. Now that she has reservations to put the dogs at the kennel, it's a done deal.

I guess I should post in the RSVP thread as well.
