The same ones should work on the seat also. Home Depot or Lowes should sell knobs that would work. You would still have to cut the head off a metric bolt and thread it so it fits the knob.

I bought the same ones from winters mentioned above.

Not sure they will fit the seats. Knobs are pretty big

I just leave the 2 bolts out of the seat.
There's no way the seat can come off , and it's quicker to take off for service.

I don't think I could keep my backrest on there without the seat bolt http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif
Not only that but wouldn't the seats slide left and right a little? That would wear a spot in the paint after a while.

It shouldn't wear anything, by leaving the bolts out of the seat, Ive ran without them quite a bit with no problems.

TC, the seats mount different on the 1500's than they do on the 1600's, and yes on the 1600's, the seat would slide left and right, and might even come off!!!!!

Yes, On the 1600's, you have one screw in the back center of the passanger seat, and one screw in the back center of the driver's seat. With the screw of the drivers seat out, the back of the seat can pivot, left and right on the tang that goes under the notch of the fuel tank. And on the 1500's, doesn't the driver's seat have two screws, one on each side under the saddle?

The 1500 seat is fastened down with two bolts, one on each side. But the seat will stay put just fine without the bolts as well. Its quite handy for taking it on and off quickly. I have a pair of knobs holding the seat on now. The only thing is that they tend to come loose after a while, and Ive lost them on two seperate occasions. Now I just check them more often.

I wish it was possible to use a knob on my mounting screws, but it can't happen :-[, there is BARELY enough room to get a nutdriver on it with the mustang seat. All I know is, WE GOT SOME SHARP BIKES!!!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
