I have a mustang seat and it keeps messing with the lock for the seat lock. I broke 1 key off and got a new lock under the warranty, it has happened again, any suggestions?

What year and model bike do you have? Always give us as much information as possible.

Push down HARD on the seat to unlock it.

And then remove the locking mechanism that you bolt to the seat, put two washers between it and the seat and reinstall . . . should make it a lot easier after that.

That should fix it.

May need to play with washer number and thickness until it works right - but that is a good fix . . .

The tech at the ship put washers on it last time a and it worked fine.

This past weekend I had the battery go dead on me and the seat lock was still a problem, I had no other choice but to cut the side cover off. Once the cover was off I could easily pull the wire and get the seat off without a problem. I played with the lock and it would not turn.

I'm going to figure out a way to make a pull cord for the seat now.

Is there too much play in the cable ? Maybe the key is not releasing the latch mechanism completely ?

The cable was fine. The lock mechanism is defective

napom-Thanks for the tip to hartless on the washers below the lock mechanism. Pirated the info and really made a difference on my Mustang!
