Damn, by the time this ends sometime this afternoon we will have between 10" and 12" inches of new snow. I am ready to start riding for the season but it seams so far away right now. This is looking out my office window. I know that many in the NCR feel my pain.

Know what you mean Gibby. We had some last week and it is almost melted and they have another shot for this weekend. Hopefully more rain than snow this time.

Ours has been melting pretty good today, yesterday we had about a foot on the lawn, today less than half since its been in the low 50's.

Looks like we still have another 10 days before we see a 40 degree day! Not even above freezing much for the next week - stinks!

More snow forecast for the next couple days. June can't get here fast enough...

GIBBY

3-4 inches on the ground already this morning and still snowing. The weather "experts" are saying we may get 16 inches on Monday. This is hell.

We saw two bikes on the road today Gibby - guess 39 degrees is warm enough for some folks.

GIBBY

39 degrees is plenty warm, it is the ice that you can't see that keeps me from riding.

Given that I know what a slick surface can do to a motorcycle ride... I wouldn't chance-it to ride if there any possibility of ice.

Think of what it would be like to ride a bicycle in a hockey-rink... not exactly going to turn out right.

On the positive side... a great (but late) year for snowmobiles! :D

Last year on Irish-day... it was in the 70's here. Not going to make it this year...

Guess I would have to invest in some heated gear up there in the farther north! Maybe some thick furs instead of leathers. ? -Cal

We had about an inch of snow last night with an expected 7"-11" in the next day and a half. Sure am tired of this s**t. April 20th is the annual spring "Flood Run" which runs along the Mississippi River between Afton,MN and Winona,MN
This ride attracts tens of thousands of motorcycles when the weather is decent. Sure hope it warms up soon :wtf:

News is reporting 28 inches of snow in the Black Hills. All joking aside, that part of USA really needs it. We have 1.7 inches of rain in the Omaha area and that is most welcomed.

I really don't care about the cold except when we get precipitation with it (snow/ice) One of the few things that is NOT standard equipment on my Vic is a snow tire with chains :ohno:

What's a couple more inch's when there's still a foot on the ground. June is coming. Yes
I know there is May. But the way this month has gone need I say more. We all can recall
opening week end of fishing with snow. That's why we love No.Mn.

Damn Gibby, I feel for you but we are in a similar boat as you. Just not as much snow. I am getting sick of the cold weather myself. It is almost May for crying out loud. The moisture is appreciated but it could come in the liquid form rather than the frozen form. Oh, by the way, we have another shot at snow next week again. I'll be sure to send it your way so everyone can enjoy the misery.

Yeah we got the rain, overnight Wednesday we had 8 inches of rain in some areas, major flooding to say the least. Some of the expressways in Chicago had the water rise up to 13 feet in places! During the day Thursday it rained and the temps went up to 60 degress, at work now Friday and all I see is white with snow going by my window!

Oh, if that 8 inches of rain was snow it would have been 80 inches deep!

Saturday looks nice and hope to get out for a ride, crazy week.

I have one word for you Mike...

Snowmobile! :D

I am heading-out in the morning for Missouri. Will be gone 7-days, maybe eight. Riding alone to get down there... so I can keep my own pace.

Crossing the Mississippi has been restricted by some bridge closings due to the major flooding. I had intended on riding along the river's west-bank... however that plan is scratched due to road closings.

I'll be sure to take a raft and paddles... and avoid anything called "sh!t creek".

Long ride for my back... sadly to discover.

45 degrees for most of the first leg with high winds at a bad angle for my headings. 'Bout blew me out of my lane a few times. :wtf:

Supposed to rain off and on here tomorrow, but good for the rest of the week.

Hope the snow doesn't last long. I saw where Waterman (Joel) said he is now beginning to wonder if there will be ice on some of the roads for the national. :wtf:

I have yet to burn a tank of gas. Looks like we'll be just on the outside edge of the snowfall this time though.

It might be a challenge even to get in a good 'warm-up' ride before the National!

Looks like our friends in Minnesota need to move. Geez...:hmm:

In this area, the old gardeners would always say to never plant until after Mother's Day -- because it could frost or snow. Maybe there is something to that statement.:wtf:

It is really unbelievable... but then again, the whole of the U.S. needs the ground water replenished after last year's drought. Unfortunately, we ride motorcycles and replenishing the water isn't top on our list!!!!

The more I live in Indiana (with the crappy weather and the winters that won't end), the more I think about moving to Arizona or New Mexico. I'm about to send an email to a mining company with mines in AZ. I'm ok with no snow and very little rain. Even better with "cold weather" in the 40s.

Just a few weeks ago I was rode over 2400 miles in crap mid-40 degree weather in the rain. Was wet and frozen most of the time, even with heated grips... but I didn't complain.

I rode (the motorcycle) yesterday when it was in the mid 90's here and worked-up a sweat... but did not complain!:D

Tonight's temps were good with a low to mid 80's with some cloud cover -- which made it feel much cooler than it actually was.

Again... I didn't complain.
