From the factory mine had 0psi in them... I think they are all that way. You can add air to tighten it up, and if you plan in riding 2-up.

You do need a special hand pump to do this - not an air compressor. You want a progressive (or HD) zero loss air pump.
Something like this: www.progressivesuspension.com/ (http://www.progressivesuspension.com/accessories/index.html)

You need to buy a shock pump you can get on ebay or online or bicicle shopit allows you to screw on the nut with out lousing any air. The more weight you have on the rear the more air you need I run around 10 to 12 solo and with wife ill add more if we load up to go some where. On your shocks depending on model you have rebound settings mine is on the 2nd mark most of the time.

If you want to actualy raise and lower the bike height you would need an air bag suspension kit that runs off a small air compressor. I dont know of any comany that is offering the kit for the Vaquero just yet. I just did air bags on my Vaquero this week but fabricated the kit myself. Works great and slams the bike when parked. I have had the bike for 4 days and cannot leave it alone, but wow is it more fun than my streetglide. Next come the 21" wheel, bagger bars, boards $$$$$$$$

There is no brand. I just machined some pieces to make some parts I had work. I had most of the parts (air line, fittings, compressor, air bag shocks etc) laying around from previous bagger builds. You could get just about any air bag suspension kit for a harley streetglide, electraglide etc and fabricate a few items here and their to make it fit. Legend or Arnot make pretty good kits to get you started. The Vaquero has plenty of space behind the right side cover to mount the compressor. The last thing I need to figure out is where to put bump stops so if the system fails my rear fender is not sitting om my rear tire riding down the highway.

Mate! ...(there's an NZ / Oz colloquialism for you).
6 posts on here and you're coming up with stuff like this? You'll be about the most popular new kid in town I'd say.
Just make sure you take plenty of photos along the way, because I'm absolutely sure you're gonna have a fan-club following your each and every move from now on.

I have enough on my plate for the moment but I may check into a system this winter. Thinking about raking my neck and installing a 23" wheel next winter and a air kit would be a nice touch

Don- I saw in another thread that you made some 13" apes for the Vaquero? Do you still have these available? I am interested in a set of these.

I used the Progressive Suspension 716-1001c Air Dragger kit and the 30-5700 Easy Mount Compressor kit.
I located a lower price on E-Bay for both items.
You will need to ream the supplied bushings to fit the shock mount post.
I don't remember what the amount was right off hand it has been a year since I did it. I think it is .080 off the top bushings and .006 off the lower bushings. you will need to measure for your self.
The compressor is located behind the right hand battery box cover.
I removed the compressor from the supplied mount bracket and mounted it directly to the side of the battery box with a thin metal shim on the inside to prevent cracking.(remove the battery before drilling).
The control switch is located out of site under the seat just below the upper frame.
You can ride with no air in the shocks and not hurt anything in the shock. Although it will hurt you on every bump. same as a ridged frame bike.
I run just enuff air to where the bike lifts a little about 30 seconds of compressor time. when riding solo. when riding 2up i add until comp stops.
With all the air out the lowest tip of the rear fender is 6.5" off the ground. I'm not sure what it was stock. there is at least 2" of lift with these shocks.
Ride is better than stock shocks.
couldn't see going much lower bike will drag with all of the air out if not paying attention.
almost need a shorter kick stand.
