View Full Version : Give me your suggestion for the National Rally....

This year, Kawasaki has made the decision not to provide demo rides at any events that will be less than 5,000 in attendance.

I've been asking Kawasaki for any ideas on how or what they can do to attend the VBA National in June. They have offered to send some field reps to answer questions, but I feel that may not be of any use to our members.

So, in trying to think out of the box.... give me your ideas or suggestions on what you would like Kawasaki to do or provide at the National (on Thursday, the Free Day) that you would enjoy or take part in. Take some time to think about it and be realistic.

Thanks,
Trip

There isn't a whole lot that feild reps will be able to do, since they'll be amongst all Vulcan ownwers anyways.
Perhaps they could try to persaude some of the fellas riding other brands to switch back......:tehe:

5000? That's a lot. VROC and VRA wouldn't add up to that. In fact I'd bet the VRA, VBA and VROC wouldn't. So basically, they are saying they will only do big events like Daytona, Myrtle Beach and Sturgis, etc. It makes sense from the standpoint that they would be preaching to the choir with us, but by the same token, I think they'd want to appease the faithful too. That said, I think the best route may be to hook up with a local or local dealers to see if they want to do something or may be it would be possible in the future to make it easy for Ma Kaw and bring us to them. 5000 is a lot. I don't know if the BMWMOA did that last year at their rally and they have about 30K active members for sure.

Tell them it's OK, because Harley and Victory are sending demos. See how they respond.

You could ask the field reps why they don't grease the swing arms and u-joints at the factory.

5000?, I wonder how many people they think they can accommodate in a day or two. Seems to me at the last National they had something like 17 bikes and even at a group every half hour for 8 hours that would be 272 people. I don't think they kept up that blistering a pace though.

I traded my Nomad for a Vaquero less than a month after the demo ride at Maggie Valley.

I really don't want to seem sore about it, but what can reps do other than a Q&A? I vote they perform in a talent show for us.

Maybe some top mechanics for some hands on maintenance tips and tricks?

Future plans for factory bolt on accessories, T-shirts with various models (not some drink)& dealers that stock parts! I think we would spend money on accessories that fit out of the box, instead of having to adapt someone else parts to fit the Kawasaki bikes. ????

I don't think they believe 5000 people would want to ride the demos, but out of a group of 5000, they might get 50 sales. Versus a group of 100 and 95% of them already own Kawasakis. They might get 1 sale.

Well your right about not all 5000 wanting to demo a Kawasaki, but if your giving something for free, probably more than they can handle is all I'm saying. I would think that if they only want to go to larger gatherings, must people there would be riding some brand of bike already. There is more than trying to get instant sales from non Kawasaki owners to consider IMO. There is keeping those that you already have as customers interested enough to purchase a second time down the road.
Anyway I enjoyed testing a Vaquero last time, but wouldn't miss the demo truck if it is not there.

I think they well lose some sales to other bikes, Maybe seeing that they may change their minds. I would like for them to have some machanics there to fix some problms we can't get done at the dealer under warrenty And have a better selection of accessorysThere.

I don't know about the "nice guy" bit.

He's gone uppity on us. No longer uses yellow mustard, must be grey poupon only!

See if they'll send a cheque for a case of "The Balvenie" or some other single malt. And a couple of box's of good cigars.
Just an idea !!!
I can live without the test rides, but thanks for trying Trip.

I like the idea of mechanic for hands on tips and tricks. But, there are a lot of guys on this site that could teach them a thing or two. Maybe they should come listen to our group to make a few adjustments at the factory. lol

You know you have a good point there. Who better to ask what they like, dislike, and would like to see in the future than a group of Vulcan owners willing to ride half way across the country to get together.

If such a person exists. Kawasaki USA is a sales organization. Mechanics would be at the dealer level and not employees of Kawasaki USA.

Guess I didn't explain my self well enough, Not necessarily a mechanic, or a tech, but Talon's post did make me think that Ma Kaw had some kind of reps that might be interested in what riders have to say and bounce stuff off of us so to speak.
