What did you have done to it? I had a fusion in 2001 - didn't ride until 2006 - But I also didn't have a bike until 2006 either - I was probably ready to ride about 10 months out . . . had a complication or two along the way . . .

Thats probably something the doctor can answer for you. I guess it all depends on how quick you mend and feel after a while also.

I've had a macrodiscectomy (outpatient, surgery in early AM, walked to the car in mid-afternoon) and felt like riding the next day. Doc said no lifting for a week, max of 25 lbs for a month so I stayed off for one month--wish it had been february instead of december

I had back surdery back in 99 the same one you had and it reherneated and had it fused in 2000. I found out if you do what the dr says and do the theropy just like they say and exersize you will heal quicker and stronger. Or i did in my case I tryed to sluff it off but never got better untill I did as was told. Not saying it will work for everyone because we are all different Just telling you my story hope it helps in any way. Good luck and a speedy recovery so you can get back to riding I did not have a bike at the time was still raising kids.
