OK, this is sort of a game.Tell us why you're sitting there posting instead of out riding your Nomad. Extra points for the most creative reasons. I'll start:

"I'd be riding today if...."

...if I didn't have a stinkin' cold.
I've gone through about 300 kleenex this AM.

Hardly creative, but I'm bored and had to think of something to post. ;)

Right now it's a maintenance day---both bikes and the ATV. It's 40 degrees, probably will go for a ride later today, maybe 55. I've planted 65 trees in the last week (long story) and I could use a ride.

I felt like it. For some reason I just feel like taking it easy today and relaxing.
So far I think LW has the most sensible reason. Sorry LW ;)

If my wife didn't volunteer me for volunteer work for single moms, and then on the way home we saw a dog get hit by a car, the owner(of the dog) tried to catch the dog to get it to a vet and the dog bolted. By Coincidence we spotted the dog 5 miles away. We doubled back got the dog to stay with us, read the tag, called the owner. The owner came picked up the dog and now all is well.

I did get my ride in, short as it was. IMO the dog story and the lonely hearts club is the best story so far, two for one.

Rode yesterday. Got up this morning, removed bugs, gunk & grime, then polished the bike. ::) Not fast enough, the wife thought we should go out for lunch. She eats slow, so 2.5hrs later I am finally back home. Waiting for her to decide what I should go to the store and get. ??? By the time I finally get home from that it will be too late. :-[

Since the bike is polished, fueled, etc., all I have to do tomorrow is get up and get gone. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif I'll think of someplace to go for a while. http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif

It snowed this morning and is blowing 30 to 40 mph. Oh well, needed a day at home. Changed the oil in the pickup, 2 mowers, tiller, atv (work), trimmer. Also worked on some stuff in the house that needed attention.

Maybe tomorrow.

Few flurries blowing in from Waterman, but even without that my wife decided she didn't like that stump in the front yard - its still mostly there but made a hell of a dent in it. About all I could do to drag myself to the beer fridge and into a hot bath. Next weekend a few friends will be over to finish off the stump, I bet I'll be on a ride tomorrow.

Papat, Thanks for the service.
OK, We went for the 3 mile walk for the March of Dimes fundraiser at 7Am, Then cleaned a office we do as a part time job. Then cleaned the house. Then started painting the outside of our house and did over 35%. THEN ... went grocery shopping and came home to SIT DOWN.
Tomorrow, we go see our daughter for the day.
No riding until time to go to work. :(

Well, traded my automobile yesterday....that took most of the day...you know...dealer-'hear's what we'll trade for' ......us 'here's what we'll trade for'....dealer 'let me take this to the manager...etc....then calling the credit union to get the loan, no problem....filling out the paperwork at the dealer while they clean and gas up the car (sign here and here and here ugh)......getting bag and gathering crap out of old car etc....driving home after dark, go in read owner's manual and wash the car the next day (today) to get the bugs off, go show friends/relatives.

1. Mow lawn
2. Weed Y Feed lawn
3. Pull weeds off upper level
4. Powerwash driveway
5. BBQ pork chops
6. Read messages on KawaNOW

04-27-2008, 12:45 AM
Mowed the lawn, just as I finished that the rain started. So, I changed the oil and filter on the Nomad. Checked the coolant level.Checked the tire pressure, and just generally looked the bike over.

Willl be starting in about 30 min. (5:00 AM). Ride at least one full day per week. Average between 250 to 350 miles and return home between 5:00 PM and 6:00.

Like to ride the back roads through the ranch country of south Florida. Saw so many gators on last weeks ride that I gave up counting after 30 min.

Well, I'm feeling better this morning. The cold's not gone, but it's "dried up" if you know what I mean. I just might get to clean up the bike a little and go ride to the store or something short.

My youngest daughter is also graduating college next weekend, so I probably won't be doing any weekend riding to speak of. Then, the next weekend is Mother's day. Somewhere in all that we'll need to go shopping, etc. Then there's this eave repair & painting on my house that's only about half done. I need to buy a new car and sell two old ones, plus sell a tractor and impliments. It looks like I'm gonna be busy.

This is how my life seems to go. I get to ride to work every day, but finding time to go ride on the weekend is a rare thing.

Saturday went to the gym and out to lunch with my wife, went to a wedding reception out in the damn boonies and then met Todd, yes, our Todd, at Wing House. Sunday, went for a 2 hour shooting lesson then met Todd for lunch at Bone Daddy's (great food and smokin' hotties working there), then went home and helped my wife around the house. Busy weekend. I'm hoping to get some riding time next weekend.

LW, how bad and how are you?

LW.... you ok bud?? Guess I'll send ya a PM.

04-28-2008, 01:38 PM
Well, today was a work day for me, so of course my "cold" or sinusitis, or snot attack from hell, or what ever the devil it was has all cleared up.

I did ride today (to work) and it was so freakin' nice out I had to put both feet on the right floorboard to get my bike to turn in to the parking lot.

So I'd be riding still, except for work.

jussmatt
04-28-2008, 01:44 PM
In continuation.... I didn't ride to work today cause I have school tonight. The area where my course is isn't the best. Even if I locked my bike up, disk lock, and chained it to a telephone post.... when I got out around 10pm...I'm sure the NAD would be gone!!!

After spending all Saturday slaving in the yard, I got out Sunday. We met up with a friend in Maple Valley and rode over to "Flaming Geyser" state park. Then up the back way to Issaquah for lunch art the XXX Drive In.

Ummm great burgers and BEER, Root Beer out of the tap.

There was an Italian car show going on so we walked the lot and ogled Lambos, Ferrari's, Alphas and Fiats. As much as I love the sweet sound of the Nomads big twin, there is nothing like the sound of a V12 being revved up.

From Issaquah we rode on up to Snoqualmie Falls to see the water run over the cliff. From there it was a 50 mile dash to the house dodging rain drops for about 1/2 the way. Other than the last 1/2 hour in mist and drizzle, it was a great day. Got in aobut 200 miles. Sweet. Spring is starting to arrive in the great north wet.

bigjohn, we lived in portland for many years I miss the ride's we took there some of the beautiful views there are. but the great north wet is right on the money we never left the house without rain gear no mater what it look outside.

I'd be riding today if I hadn't gotten careless and layed it down
while parking on a slight grade. I put out my foot, to keep it from
going down and I pushed so hard that I fractured four bones in my
left foot. Will not be able to ride for about 8 weeks now and will miss
some of the best riding weather of the year. Hope I learned
something from this as I'm running out of years to ride.
