I just ordered a grasshopper driver backrest. I hope it helps me right for longer then I can now. Anyone else have one?

I got one a couple of years ago and have no complaints. Easy to install and keeps me sitting up straighter.

Sure do. Lonnie is a good friend. Couldn't ask for better service or a better product for the money.

You know I'm a big boy and that backrest works great for me. I'm about 61 and 330 pounds so if it fit for me it should fit anyone.

I take that back. The grasshopper sucks for me. I can't put any weight on it without bending it. I may just break down and buy a Russell day long seat with backrests.

The day longs are great seats but the backrest is mounted into the rear seat pan and takes some of the pillions room away. That being said it is a great backrest if the pillion can live with less room.

Best comfort item I ever added to a bike. Have one on my Vision as they just started making them this year.

There was one on my bike from the previous owner and it works great for me. Easy on and off but it stays on all the time.

I just got a used one recently and though it does make me sit up straighter, it also pushes me forward way too far. Gotta find a way to bend the bracket back some.

I bought a grasshopper backrest and an mustang seat. I was positive I needed a new seat. After installing the backrest on my stock seat I was in heaven. I sent the Mustang seat back and absolutely love the way the seat and backrest feel. I had back surgery last summer and literally had no lower back support on my Voyager so I am thrilled with it.

From what I've heard, if you lean back on it, it will bend.

It only bends at the top, bottom part at the bend still stays forward. Perfect if I wanted to recline but ...

Ya if your a fat boy like me it does not work well. I lean back and she bends back. I need something that will support my back.

I had to put a gusset welded into the bottom of the mounting bracket on the backrest, and I have not had an issue since. I am 6"5 and #350, my only complaint is that I wish it was a little wider/taller, but I am going to correct that shortly, however, for around town, its great, I am making a little larger seat for long distance trips.
