Hi All, just wanted to share that I left on the 11th of the month from St. Louis, Mo. Went up through Illinois, through Wisconsin, into the upper peninsula of Michigan and into Canada. Turned east at Sault Saint Marie, Canada and went to Toronto. Went south into New York then west through Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and home to Alton, Il which is just 16 minutes from St. Louis. I haven't rode in that much rain ever. Cold, Cloudy and rainy most of the way through Canada. I did see a moose but after a few drinks I went ahead and asked her out. All in All, Good trip. Stopped at Niagra Falls.

Sounds like you had an awesome trip, dan. In reading your trip post, it just registered with me that you are from Alton, IL. My son attends college in St. Louis (Webster University). He plays baseball there and every year the Division playoffs have been held in Alton at the Gordon Moore Community Park. I've visited Alton several times over the years. I vowed that I would have to return some day on my Nomad to ride Highway 100 between Alton and Grafton.

Thanks Guys!
Trip...............Rt 100 in Alton is one of the most beautiful rides in Illinois. The first twelve miles runs right beside the Mississippi river and it is all in full view. If you continue on 100 it will take
you to a little river town call Hardin, IL. Hardin is in Calhoun county Il and most of it is between the Mississippi river and the Illinois river and it is a fantastic ride. If you catch hwy 96 it will keep you right beside the river all the way to Hannibal, MO, home of Mark Twain. Okay, time for a little trivia statement. Mark Twain was Samuel Clemens Book name. When he was a teen ager he would ride on barges up and down the Mississippi river. They didn't have depth finders back then so his job was to stand on the front of the barge with a weight tied to a rope. Every so often he would have to drop the weight down and measure the rope to see how deep the water was. If the weight at the end of the rope went down at least two fathoms they would yell out, MARK TWAIN.

Idaho....... If that picture you posted is where you go fishing, I don't blame you for going. Looks like a great place. My father use to fly fish but he spent most of his time getting the fly out of the trees on the banks.
