Hopefully I'm not the only person that owns a Vaquero that still has the stock slip-ons. I recently passed 5,000 miles. Is it my imagination, or does the exhaust really sound deeper and more throaty? While riding to work yesterday, in the rain no less, it really seems to have a more commanding tone than when I first purchased it. Or, as my loving wife likes to remind me, I could just be crazy as a loon ... :D

Exhaust gasses are like water flowing in a stream. The water will create it's own path thru the ground and flow down that path until something(or someone) disrupts that path.

The exhaust gasses deposit carbon throught the exhaust system in a pattern which over mileage INCREASES exhaust flow and velocity and will alter the sound we hear.

Your ears are not deceiveing you, now as far as your wife's statement we are ALL crazy in our own ways, tell her i said so!!

Oh, no, we don't want to wake the slumbering wife ...
All together now, "Yes, dear! Whatever you say, dear!" :D

The exhaust note on my 2010 Voyager has changed in the first 15,000 kms.
Much more pleasant now, less tinny

After changing pipes on every bike I've owned, I will be staying with the "stocks" on my vaquero. Don't feel the need to announce my arrival, I let the beauty of the bike do it. :)
The sound does seem a touch louder than when new, over 10k on her so far. Just nice to be able to listen to tunes without having to resort to earphones.

I really, really like the stock exhaust sound that the Voyager and Vacquero put out. I wish the cats didn't cause them to run so hot.

If I could buy an aftermarket that sounded just the stockers but ran cooler, I'd be all over it.

You are not the only one having a stock equipped exhaust Vaquero. I have noticed the same on mine . I have just a little over 2K on mine. I too , will not be changing the exhaust for more noise. The slight rumble on this machine is adequate compared to what my Mean Streak used to be.

The stock mufflers on my 2010 Voyager are plenty loud enough for me.

I have had my new 2013 Vaquero for only a few days and I am very pleased with the stock exhaust. Loud enough but not too loud.

Overall the bike is too perfect, so perfect that I hesitate to add anything to it. I bought a bagger shield adjustable windshield and have not put it on yet because the bike looks soooo good the way it is. I plan on buying a mustang seat but then again it might ruin the looks of the bike. I don't know...

I've had mine since April 27, 2012, got about 15,300 miles on the clock and the fuel and air are all bone stock. Sure is nice being able to hear the stereo goin' down the highway at 65mph without having to upgrade the speakers!

I'll save my money for gas, pipes are for bike night heroes ;)

I've been quite pleased with my Baggershield. With the smoked lower, it keeps the look I like, and I flip the upper when I know I'm gonna be on the Interstate. In short, I love it!

I plan on installing it to see how it looks. I got mine for 89.00 when it was on sale.
