Afraid the 5-6" of snow we received last night may put a damper on the annual New Years Day Ride? Even if I could get the bike out of the garage I am not sure I could get it out to the hard road. Not sure I even wanna take it out with all of the salt that was dumped overnite. Maybe an annual Groundhog Day ride is in the future?

For us here in Ontario the best we can probably hope for is a ride at Easter ?

Still snowing here, hoping for sometime this month now.

I would avoid the salt like a plague, that stuff is very tough on bikes. It gets into everything and sits in all the seams and cases and rusts.

I can wait, my Voyager has to last me a long long time. Probably my last bike.

I agree, at least my last bagger.

I think though, that the way the snow is falling fast and furious in these parts, your Easter ride may be a bit optimistic. Victoria Day weekend may be a more realistic 'out of the gate' date.

But I hope not :-(

As long as there is no ice or snow on the road, it's a go.

Yeah, my son and I have tried to get a January1st ride in each year, but it often does not work out. Too much snow and ice this year. So I put my bike on life support until spring this past week. Even if the snow melts, still have to wait on rains to wash away all of the salt. So I'll focus on planning some big rides for next summer and enjoy the great riding weather when it returns.

3 of us went ridin New Year's day, 375 miles. Round lake Okeechobee and surrounding parts. Only disappointment was the little restaraunt in Indiantown we go to for breakfast was closed, we were too hungry to ride up to Okeechobee, so we joined other bikers for b/fast at a Burger King. UUGG!!
Came back with lotsa dead bugs on the front!

We're heading up to the UDT/Seal museum next weekend. Let me know if you want to come with us.

Hard cold stuff good for cooling adult beverages.......have had little luck in past riding on it with anything that has less than 3 wheels........tires vs ice equals minimal friction (friction = traction = upright)

We keep that stuff in our freezers. What foolish soul would put it on the road? :D
