Okay, was looking at the Kawasaki web site. What do I need to use my Mp3.
Do I just need the audio adapter kit for 57.95? Or do I also need the ipod adapter kit for 107.95? Would like to be able to flip through songs from the handlebars if possible. Thanks, for any input.

If using a regular MP3 player, the audio adapter will do it. Using an Ipod with the Ipod adapter will allow you to control the Ipod from the handlebar controls. I don't know of a way to control the standard MP3 player

I have both cords. The mp3 cord is just a head phone jack for the stereo and does not allow any control of the player. The ipod adapter allows handlebar control of the ipod and also charges the ipod at the same time.

you can get an aftermarket mp-3 cord for your bike on e-bay for $30. that will work with your kawi 1700 bike.
