When I think of Tennessee, I think of these 2 blonde, 18-year old waitresses at the PIzza Hut in Millington. They worked there during the period I was attending aviation maintenance school at NAS Memphis, summer 1978. We used to eat there every night we had money. Very beautiful country, too. I'd like to visit again someday.

The place we have been were quiet, peaceful and the people are nice. I had relatives in Memphis and always loved Tennessee. We bought a place in east Tenn a few years back and will make a small home for us to vacation (now) and retire ( later) in.
We love the state parks and lots of two lane roads to cruise on. I love going there.

What do I think of when I think of Tennessee,,,, "Gods Country and Home"
By the way, Deliverance was filmed in Georgia, but the fact remains that most Banjo players are are a bit crazy.
Most folks think of ; Grand Ole Opry, Elvis, Jack Daniels,& Andrew Jackson
They usually don't think of TVA, Al Gore, Reese Witherspoon, Oak Ridge, and the Memphis Blues
We have a lot of things in Tennessee most of which we are proud of, a few not so much

I think of Country Music and Belmont University in Nashville. My youngest son is transferring to Belmont in August for his last two years of college. Now that I have this great highway bike, I'll probably try to ride down and visit him once in a while.
I remember him! Hadn't thought about that character in many years!
Don Adams was great! RIP

Well, I was born one mornin' when the sun didn't shine.
I picked up my hammer and I walked to the mine.
I loaded 16 tons of Number 9 coal,
and the straw boss said "Well, bless my soul!
You load 16 tons and what do you get?
Another day older and you're deeper in debt.
St. Peter don't ya call me 'cause I can't go.
I owe my soul to the company store....

Must make a correction, I rode Wayha road yesterday, and sorry, but it's in North Carolina, not Tennessee http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif. There's so much good riding in this area of TN, NC, & GA, that it all seems to run together http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

that brings back memories - the King and Queen of Cotton for the festival. When I first got out of high school I worked for a place in downtown Memphis called 'Cotton, Fire and Marine Underwriters' ....they insured cotton crops.
