I added a set of Chucksters Risers to the beast. Very nicely made and helped to get the bars up and back a tad...(Thanks again Joe...). In the bottom photo, you can see where I used some Velcro to mount my garage door opener. It is obvious here as I was looking up under the dash, but it is fairly unnoticable otherwise.
I also ordered a set of RacnRay's modified chrome ISO grips...maybe see them next week since they are coming from Florida. Still waiting on all the other goodies, but I'm getting anxious as hell. Still no word from Corbin....hhhmmm....waiting on my order confirmation which they said should be two business days....it's been three. Maybe I will call them if I don't hear something by tomorrow....
I am really going to have to reserve judgement on this new Voyager until all of my performance and comfort mods are completed. I had all that stuff on the 'Nad, so until I get this one dialed in...it's hard to compare. It does have some features that I LOVE...and some I may love more once I get it where I want it....

No issues with the cables, or the bars hitting the fairing ?

There was no issues with the cables...and the bars just barely touch the underside of the dash at full lock....but under normal riding conditions, you won't turn that sharp anyways. I'm afraid any more pullback and you might hit the nacelle. To me, the benefits far outweigh any negatives...I just gotta have'em. Scootworks makes a set too, but I've heard nothing but horror stories about them lately....:hmm:.

Assuming the garage door opener is only attached with Velcro, I'd be worried that heat and vibrations would jar it loose. I have the same opener and have mine Velcro'ed to the top of a horizontal bar inside my fairing and it's worked it way lose before. Gravity should have kept mine on there.

You guys are killin' me. I got my short windshield on today...major difference for the better, now I can see over the damn thing! Corbin was just finishing up my seat today and it should ship out tomorrow.... That should help a ton with my seating position. Ray was shipping out my modified grips today as well, so next week should see some major improvements! Everything else has arrived at the dealership except my Thunder air kit and VH pipes....arrrghhh. Once all that stuff is installed...the new ride should be a monster. It better be for all the coin I've got in it.....

Coming off the 1600 Nomad to the 1700 Voyager, can you talk about any "power" or "performance" differences? I realize that they are subjective but......... A dealer told me yesterday that they were "the same" performance wise, But that doesnt make a lot of sense to me.
I would think that going from shaft to belt drive would give you back a bit of power anyway.

I have only had this bike for about a week and a half, so it's hard for me to say. They are different animals and the belt drive is definitely different than the shaft. The over-all power band is fine and this thing gets up and goes....but I can't really get it over 3500 rpm's yet until I get 1000 miles on it. The bike right off the showroom floor feels somewhat restricted for fuel and air...which it is to satisfy the EPA...so the air/fuel/exhaust mods are pretty well a must for these things to gain maximum power potential, really no different than on the 1600's.
RacnRay makes a modified throttle tube that all by itself is supposed to improve performance on the 1700's greatly. It is basically designed to trick the throttle position sensor into thinking it is more advanced than it actually is, opening the throttle bodies sooner and delivering more power with less twist of the wrist. By combining that with the other performace mods, I do think this new Voyager will have all the power I will need to carry our two-up load comfortably. The sixth gear is awesome, as is the electronic cruise control. I will know more in a couple weeks once all that stuff gets installed...:yep:.

Netnorske,
Congrats on the new voyager, after you install the Thunder Air Intake, PCV, V&H slipons the "beast" will wake up and perform like a completely different bike. I have a 2011 Nomad and just added the "big three" and oh boy, what a difference...Very satisfied. make sure to get it dyno tuned for optimum mileage/performance. Im up in Arlington so maybe ill see you on the road sometime.

I held mine on like that for six years and never had a problem, It even stayed on in my accident last season.

What did you do to your brake line? I installed chuckster's risers on my ride, but the brake line is tight.

Mine worked fine...nothing needed to be re-routed or anything.

As you can see in the photo, they are the small round cylinders simply added below the OEM risers...probably a couple inches is all. I think Joe is asking $70.00 per set...
