Hi everyone, I know it has probably been discussed already but I can't seem to find anything recent.
At the moment I'm looking for a quick release back rest for a passenger, ipod cable ,and windsheild. later I'll get pipes or slipons.
I am in canada and some companys don't ship here. A few of the places I have called don't have Vaquero accssories. What are some good places to buy from? I just can't see myself buying from kawasaki at there prices. I do get 10% at a few of the local bike shops.
For example: I can't spend $792.00 on a passenger back rest from my local dealer.
Thanks in advance.

your dealer or perhaps e-bay are about your only choices for the vaquero at
this time.not much after market accessories yet which is not uncommon
with new models.as for your later purchase of pipes there are models from cobra and vance&hines that are available from many vendors.

Thanks for the info. Thats what I figured, that I'd be stuck with kawasaki themselves.

For that money look at the Mustang seat for the Vaquero. I did not like the look of the mounting bracket (which you can see on the Mustang website)left on the bike without the back rest installed. Got passenger and drivers with new seat for a little more than the back rest. Also your passenger will enjoy the seat more, just my opinion.

I did't think the kawasaki windshields were all that pricey. I spent significantly more on my old Yamaha. But you're right, the KQR seat was ridiculous at $500. That being said, wife mandated we order backrest as condition of buying. I'm looking at Kuryakan Black ISO grips now. Stock seem pretty warm IMO. Had just put a Chrome set on my Yamaha, rode out to midwest, then traded it in onthe Vaquero when I got back. Only thing I miss from the old bike!

@ Rusty360 the thing with buying a seat I would need to know if it sits higher than the stock...as is with the stock seat im on my tippy toes...lol. I dont want the drivers back rest..I have rode a friends bike that has one and i find it uncomfy.
@haygrr I was so excited when I got the bike I forgot to add a back rest in. I went back the next day and it was too late.

Irony for me is that the wife rides once a year with me if I'm lucky!

I was in the same boat, not wanting to spend that much on a backrest. I went ahead and bought the mustang seat with the driver and passenger backrests. I should say the seat came with one backrest that fits either passenger or driver.
As for the seat itself, you will be higher making it more difficult to touch the ground. At first I found the stock seat more comfortable when stopped. The mustang seat just seems too wide when your feet are down but when riding it is great. One other thing, I love the backrest, lots of support.
Where to buy parts, I think Custom World and Parts Canada might be good places to start. I buy from a local custom shop but I notice the name on the boxes are usually one of those two places.
hope this helps

Johnny I find the stock seat quite comfy, but like before i'm only 5"5 and barely touch as is.I'm looking at taking my seat into a local shop to get shaved down and few inches or so. I will check out those places you have listed.
Thanks for the input!
I was in the same situation as you. The backrest from Kawasaki is a little too spendy IMO. Plus I was going to have to put a seat on for comfort for the wife as well. Went with a mustang seat that had a built in backrest. Spent way less on that from cruisercustomizing.com I can also move the backrest to the front if I want or purchase another one. I thought the stock seat was comfy until I started taking longer rides. The mustang seat has been a great investment for us. We recently did a 1700 mile trip and I'm glad I wasn't sitting on stock leather!

Well I have found that twiggcycles has great prices. They have an ebay store and online. I will definitely be buyin from them. There prices are about 50-100 cheaper than places I have looked at even with exchange rates and shipping.
