For those on the pig trail ride that were wondering how the rider fared, it is not good news.
See story here. (http://5newsonline.com/2012/06/09/motorcyclist-dead-in-franklin-county/)

Not good. I live in Ft. Smith and ride the Pig Trail every once in awhile. Gotta watch it, tight curves, deer and some occasional traffic. My condolences to his family.

His wife or sister posted a comment below the story. She stated that a helmet wouldn't have helped because the tires ran over him. I'm assuming she means the trailer tires.
Saw the accident right after it happened. A helo picked him up and took him in. Sorry to hear he passed away.

Really sorry to read of this happening. A helmet probably wouldn't have helped in his case but in the majority of cases they do help. Wear your helmet.

Thats too bad, things can happen quickly, you never know what the next corner brings.
The article says he was traveling North. The truck he collided with was traveling South. He must have hit the trailer on a curve and rolled under the trailer tires.

Yeah I found that interesting too. That would explain the comments about the truck running over him. The bike was under the end of the trailer, but I suspected he skidded into the rear of the truck.

I also saw the news this morning where someone fell from an overlook at Mt. Magazine. He climbed over the guard rail and was pronounced dead at the scene.
