Planning to upgrade intake and exhaust. Would a K&N filter be significant or should I choose something else. Also planning exhaust. What would be best for 2011 voyager. And is commander 3 or 5 the way to go.

I put on Chucksters Dual Plate Intake and his Ultimate Baffles this season. I already had V&H Dual Bagger exhaust and a Dobeck TFI fuel processor. The difference these have made to the bike is really amazing.

K&N makes a fine product as long as you keep it clean and dont over oil it. I say start from the tail pipe and work forward. Get the processor and intake mods at the same time. You can simply change out for a K&N filter anytime without the need for the processor.

I'd go with a K&N filter as well. But the Power Commander will be your biggest performance changing item.

Is dobek system one that will automatically tune or will I have to adjust it? Thanks for the instruction concerning progression. I will do exhaust first. Saw that you also changed baffles. What did that do? Why did you feel the need to do this?

Use the Dobek TFI instead of the Power Commander. You have to adjust it when you install it, but it's much easier to use and much cheaper than the PC. A bunch of the guys on here have it and love it! I just bought one last week for $182 shipped. I'll put it on in the next few days, hopefully, and then start looking at changing the air intake. I'll have to wait for funds to replenish before I can upgrade my exhaust.

I used Chuckster's Dual Plate Breather so that I would get the benefit of an unrestricted air intake without changing the look of the bike. I left both dog bowls on and you really cant even tell its there until you romp on the throttle.

Re the Dobeck TFI; you will set the dials (pots) on it based upon your configuration (make/model, equipment, etc.). You can then tinker with the TFI to provide more fuel at initial acceleration, rapid throttle change and cruising speeds. Once it is set, you really don't mess with it too much. Some guys say they fiddle it for highway versus town, I personally leave it alone once I get it set the way I like it. See more at http://www.dobeckperformance.com/shopping/viewproduct.asp?pid=70

I put on Chuckster's Ultimate Baffles to reduce the restriction in the exhaust to a minimum but keeping the same diameter opening at the tip as the header has and I just like the sound of them. Loud enough with a nice deep tone. I am getting Harley guys coming over to see what I have done to get the sound.

Everything Chuckster has made for me has been exceptionally well done. Check out his site at http://www.chucksterscustoms.com/ If you want to know more about the UB, send him an email. I recommend his breather and baffles highly.

I don't think we can have automatic tune because our FI system is 'open loop' (no O2 sensors for feedback).
I use Chuckster's Dual Plate with a K&N and the Dobeck TFI.
The TFI was the most improvement for the money.
Even if it's not adjusted 'perfekt' it still gives a major improvement.

Sounds like dobek is way to go. Still looking for intake. Chuckster has nothing for the 1700 yet. only trailer hitch.

If you send him an email, he'd probably work with you to get one set up. He's pretty good at doing that.

He needs 2011 voyager to take pattern from.
