The Banshee looks like a pretty cool accessory. Lets you keep a stock horn for a friendly Toot, as well as add an attention grabbing KICK when you most need it. Great Idea! And the prices aren't [relatively] bad either. It's only $60 if you already have the Stebil horn.

That's the smartest system I've seen yet.

The pulsing is why we have the various patterns of sounds, pitches and lights on our fire/EMS trucks. Were all trained to vary patterns at every intersection or other high traffic scenario. I especially like the fact that it integrates instead of replaces. Simple yet elegant for under $100.

That looks like a great idea. Pricing seems a little confusing. Both the chrome or black stebil type horn and control are the same price $89 and just the unit is $59. That means the horn is only valued at $30, I thought Stebils especially the chrome ones were more expensive than that.

Looks like the banshee plus 139 decible horn , chrome or black, is $89 pluse bracket if needed. The banshe unit only, if you already have a Stebil is $59.

Doesn't look like they offer the horn only without the wire harness. I might look a bit more if my Stebel fails. My imitation chrome is looking a bit dull, but it still works just fine. I also wonder how notable 139 db would be over the 130 db of the Stebel?

The Stebil is advertised as 139 db. The banshiee horn is just a rebranded Stebil in my opinion.

The box mine came in said 130 db. Perhaps they have made some improvements since my purchase.

The decibel-scale is not a straight-line scale. In other words, 139 decibels is a lot louder than 130...

How much louder? And what do you mean straight-line scale?

This is what I thought he meant when I read the title of this post..... I took this at last years 9/11 Patriot Ride...:yep:!

It's log-rhythmic. 130-140 would be twice as loud.

Ponch is right. A 10 decibel increase is considered "twice as loud".

The theory is, two horns is not twice as loud as just one. I did the math for another thread and determined, a motorcycle would need to have 20 Stebel horns to be considered twice as loud as one.

Has anyone installed one of the Screaming Banshee horns yet? I just did and as soon as the battery is reconnected it goes off. Their website says it is caused by our horns running from the negative power side. Anyone else had this issue?

There are a small percentage of vehicles that have a slightly different style of horn wiring to the majority. Basically, most
vehicles have a positive (+) signal that energizes the factory horn. However, some vehicles have a negative (-) signal. The
Screaming Banshee™ control unit needs a (+) signal so we will supply a small adapter to “flip” the signal if this is the issue.
We are supplying these free of charge and apologize for not foreseeing that there were two ways that our system will need
to be configured. If you are encountering this issue, please email us and we will ship you the adapter device along with easy
instructions on how to hook it up – all at no cost.
