Hi All:
I am wondering if anyone else has encountered the same Cruise Control issues that I have. My 2011 Voyager is fairly new (3000 miles) and the CC seems to surge/hunt when going on level ground or down hill. It seems that when going down hill the CC senses the bike is speeding up and reduces the throttle (too much) and then the bike slows down and the CC senses that and opens the throttle giving the bike a surging affect. It is quite subtle but none the less it is happening and I can feel it and hear it in the exhaust. It doesn't change the set speed but is annoying. I guess I expected it to work like automotive CC. Anyone else have the same issues. At this time it isn't severe enough to take to the dealer but I am wondering if it is a design issue. Thanks for any input.

2010 Nomad here and the CC works good. Do you have any addons on your bike? Does your bike do this at all speeds and in all gears where the CC should work? Do you have any other problems with your gauges radio and the like? If CC is off will your bike run at same speed without hunting?

Hi Ray:
The CC works perfectly when the engine is pulling (going up a hill). All the electronics work fine. I have added a K&N filter and Cobra TriOval slip on mufflers. I am getting some popping when decellerating and have a Cobra Power Pro fuel management controller that I just got and haven't installed yet. It is just like the CC response is too sensitive and it keeps correcting continuosly when there is a light or no load on the engine. My gut tells me it's the nature of the beast. Not a deal breaker but annoying. I know that I will get far better and more truthful information here than at my dealer. Thanks.

I hope this will help you. I had the same problem with my Gold Wing and all it needed was to take some slack out of the throttle cable.

I don't think the CC is cable controlled, it's controlled by the ECU, me thinks.

Send an email to barryge@comcast.net, he did the mod to my throttle, and I no longer have that problem.
with the K&N air filter and the Cobra slip on the problem could be fixed when you add the fuel controller. I would E-Mail Jackag and see what he has to say.

My Vaquero had the same issues for many thousands of miles. With the cruise control activated,on flat level ground at a steady speed the speed and rpm would vary. I was not happy with this, it certainly bugged me. Sounds like mine was worse than yours. I knew this was not a throttle, throttle cable or tuning problem as the engine would stay steady OFF cruise control while I was in control of the throttle. Does your skoot exhibit the same characteristic off cruise control and duplicating the scenario? If it does you have a lean surge.
At some point in time this anamoly disappeared due to nothing I did to the bike. It now holds it's speed virtually perfect. It took more miles than you currently have for mine to even out so maybe give your skoot some more miles.
HOPE THIS HELPS

My 2011 Voyager ABS has done this 2 times in the last 21000 miles. Both times on level ground and about 7 months apart. The last time I had my right hand up readjusting my glasses. That's when you realize how much torque these things have at 75mph!

i know this is an old post but i have the same mufflers and kn filter and it seemed to do this slightly until i put the powrprofi200at on. The cruise has also failed to "set" once within the first 400 miles. This was due to the rear brake micro switch being dirty and not letting the cruise to work.

hopefully I'm not jinxing myself but so far the CC on my vaquero is working fine.
Mine does it at slow speeds between 30 and 40 mph. I dont normaly use cruise at that speed. Just if i need a free hand for a second.
