Last year, I had to add a preamp to my stereo so I could hear it without distortion. I put the preamp in the batwing fairing, but found it added too much weight to the front end. This weekend, I pulled the gas tank and seat and ran wires back to the saddlebags to mount the preamp there. Here's my question: what is the best way to get the wiring through to the saddlebag without giving up waterproofing? I intend to use Molex connecters to make removing the bags easier for cleaning. Anyone done this?

Id use a rubber grommet in the hole, and then silicone it were the wires pass through the grommet. That should seal it up good. And Welcome from Ontario!

Thanks, Ringa. Picked up some grommets today along with a trailer light connecter so that I can quick release when I need to remove the bags.

What I would do is try to find a hollow stud to replace the saddle bag bolt then run the wires through it
