Has anyone else noted that the webpages often take forever to load ? You have to keep clicking on the thread to open the page.

Only seems to happen on this website.

Me too. Happens at home and at work - different laptops/different networks, so I know it isn't on my end.

Glade you mentioned it. I am stuck using my laptop for a few weeks and assumed it was just slow. Now that I think about other sites I frequent are no issue.

So what do we do to speed it up?

Add a fuel processor and aftermarket pipes.

I'm sure it's not the site so much as the server it's hosted on. I've found the slow ass computers (with WinXP/IE) at work are the worst. My home pc (Win7/FF and fast) isn't affected nearly as much although it still happens. Mike is probably renting server space (which most sites do). Blame the server/hosting company.

Crap Tim that won't work. All your soft spoken thought evoking wisdom will be screaming at us at full decibel.:lmao::lmao:

Been going on for some time now. Probably getting backlogged at the server level.

I'm running Win7 pro with 8gig mem and this site is the absolute worst for this. This is the only place that it happens.

I've been talking with the host telling them there has been a problem. Of course, like all web hosts, they say they dont see any problems.

Eventually I got one tech guy that said he found some errors, did some adjusting, etc, and that it should work a lot better now.

Personally I didn't see a huge problem...once in a while I would get a page that would hang there, but it was rare. Now I've been clicking links to forums and threads for the past 15 mintues constantly, and it seems to be working great now.

Let me know if you guys see any change, good or bad.

Thanks

Hi Mike, Thanks for looking into it. For me it seems to be hit and miss. It was hanging up just before your post and for a few minutes it was great and I thought wow, it's fixed, then it hung up again. Might be just my imagination but it also seems to happen more when I click on a post listed in the latest post column. I'll keep playing.

No improvement here. No change since I first posted about the issue yesterday.

Sorry to say... the site was hung-up when loading it tonight... and a couple of the threads wouldn't load at all... or at least I wouldn't wait for them any more.

For the record, I am mostly using a MacBook Pro with their latest software (can't remember what it is)

Thanks for checking into this for us... it is a real hassle and would be great if it could be fixed.:cheers:

Ugh..figures. Alright, Ill keep on their ass about it. But knowing how webhosts work, they most likely wont admit to there being a problem, so we'll probably have to move to a new host.

Years ago when I ran my Company website I had a web host who would never admit any wrong but things would always magically get fixed.:D

Yeah, I know it's a pain sometimes to get the host to do something...just now (Tuesday, a few minutes before 8) I clicked on a thread and the website died. I waited a few minutes, then opened a second tab, went to another MC forum, read a couple posts while watching the little 'circle searcher' on this forum's tab and it finally popped back up after 3 - 4 minutes.

I have gotten in the habit of having another forum to visit while I wait for VBA to come back alive.

I haven't had any issues. I have a reliable S.P., running Windows 7.....
just lucky? Maybe.

S.P.?? :hmm:

If you mean service provider, your end isn't the problem. I have a feeling that our host has their stuff optimized for something other than what the majority of us are using.
