When the Fuel Flash "Fuel Fuel" on the the Voyager dashboard, how many kms or miles can I still do without going totally empty???
It did happens few times last season.
I'm always worries that there is not to much left in the tank.

Ed - I always run mine down until the fuel warning starts flashing. Because all of my riding so far has been in the city, I am always close to a gas station.

The manual says the fuel warning comes on when there is only one gallon remaining, which seems fairly accurate as the tank holds 5.3 gallons and my average fill-up is 4.25 gallons.

Your results may vary.

So bottom line, when the Fuel flash, I still have another minimum 20 miles (12km) to go.
Which seems to be ok. So I won't be that much stress out when it happen.
Thanks guys
Ed

I have run mine empty just to see how far it would go. It will go 70 kms (40 miles) at a steady 80 kmph (50 mph). Higher speeds or stop&go riding will reduce that distance.

You should be able to get at least 50km with the light flashing. If the bike is running well you should be getting about 60-70km on the 4 litres that is still in the tank.

Seeing as the fuel cools the fuel pump running the bike really low on gas increases the risk of ruining your fuel pump. The pump sticks up inside the tank about 4 inches.

Unfortunately, it is not that simple. If you are riding on flat terrain and accelerate and brake moderately then what has been said is probably accurate. I've had "false" low fuel light flashes because I was doing some left hand downhill corkscrew and when I steadied out it shut back off.

Also, did you know that you can cycle the mode button through the tripmeter/odometer and the flashing will clear. You will be left with the Low Fuel Light on but can see the miles.

I have put in 5.2 gallons in my tank on several occasions, but mostely put in 4.8 to 5.0 gallons when I stop for fuel.

When I am on a trip I fill the tank just before I am ready to hit the road. I hold the bike upright and fill the fuel to the rim, and then ride away. If you sit too long or put the bike back on the side stand you will have fuel overflow. Doing this has allowed me to go 175 miles before my next stop. I actually hit 200 before stopping once.

How do you turn it off? Very irritating when I can't tell how much is left.

Fill up the bike.
You should go by the trip meter, its a far better way of gauging your mileage.

Reread my post, I believe I answered your question before you asked it.

+1 yes I did the exact thing, it will go for 40 miles at steady 50 mph

Just happened yesterday and I hit the switch and it took me to total trip miles; everytime I fill up I set it back to "0" and when full should get close to 200. I was at 167 when "fuel" came on. Ifelt if needed i could get to 200. hope that helps!!
