Just scored a Harbor Freight lift for 59.99 with coupon code 69364626. Not sure how long the code is good for but if you're looking for a lift it's a pretty good deal.

Haven't got it yet but from everything I've read it should be good with Idaho's jack adapter. BudMan has one and says it works fine.

The frame is about 12" center to center and the lift pads are 13 1/4.

Do you have a link? I could go for that!

If it's the yellow lift, it will work fine with the Nomad and Idaho jack adapter. That's the lift I have.

That's the lift and the code still works. I just ordered it.

$71.61 total including tax and shipping. They're running a $6.99 shipping special, too.

Link to lift here (http://www.harborfreight.com/1500-lb-capacity-atv-motorcycle-lift-2792.html).

Once you add the lift to the cart there will be a spot to enter the code.

Like monkeyman said $71.61 total with tax and shipping.

Yep, found it...and the 6.99 ship. I thought about an instore pickup - I don't think I can drive to Harbor Freight for less than 5 bux.

Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up! Got my order in for a total of $70.58. Funny thing is I was going to buy one on craiglist yesterday but the next day the guy wanted $10 more after we had agreed on a price the night before so I told him to take a hike!!

Yeah, there was a guy here in Denver selling a lift for $75.00, which I thought would be a pretty good deal, until I called him up and found out it had been used once. 10 years ago. I had visions of cracked seals an hydraulic fluid all over the garage.

I have the same lift. I found it difficult to control the jack release speed.(lowering the bike) I drilled and tapped the release pedal and used a bolt threaded into the pedal so it touches the lift frame. adjusted the bolt to allow the pedal to move a short distance and lowers the bike at a speed I like. Used a nut to lock the bolt in place.

Good to know. I had read that if you press the pedal down a little it would come down fast; press it down all the way and it would come down slow(er). Didn't really seem to make sense with the little I know about hydraulic jacks. This looks like a better idea. :yep:

That is correct. Press pedal all the way down quickly and the bike lowers slowly. Press it a little and the bike comes down rather quick. Caught me by surprise. You would think it would be the other way around.

I read this on another forum (not Nomad related...I'm NOT a traitor :D) but still good to be reminded of it. I can just picture getting the bike all done, freshly washed, chrome shining just to have it hit the ground and fall over on the right side. or >:( Would be just after I completed my fairing, too I'm sure.

The instructions state that as well. I would rather have the jack work the way I want it to work. Not having to think about how much to push the pedal. Slow and predictable is what I want with ANY bike on the lift.

Until you've experienced the thrill of lowering a 900 motorcycle on a lift, sliding the lift out from under it with one foot, while balancing said 900 pound motorcycle from the right side and trying to remember if you put the side stand down as you lean it over to the left, you don't know what spine-tingling really means. :D

I'm OC so I can't see forgetting the side stand. Probably check it 4 or 5 times just to be sure. Then once more in case. Detective Monk has nothing on me. :D I'm thinking, lower it until it's almost all the way down, then stand on the left side to guide it the rest of the way. OTOH, it's been years since I put anything on a lift so I've probably got the sequence wrong.

Just got my lift. Make sure you check to be sure all the parts are there. Mine is missing a nylok nut and a bushing. I called the "help line" and spoke with someone who sort of spoke English. She said the nut was backordered and it would take 6-8 weeks before it got here. I told her it was a freaking nut. I'll make a trip to the hardware store Saturday, I guess. The bushing is something else. Not sure I can get that at the hardware store. She said she had that in stock and could ship that soon. "Would next week be ok?" Seriously? If I wanted to use the lift next week, I would have ordered it next week. :D I told her it wasn't my fault the bushing was missing and she could have it here by the end of this week. She gave me a couple confirmation numbers. I couldn't understand her well enough to figure out what those were for. We'll see. This is my last 3 day weekend for a couple months. I could sure use the lift starting Saturday morning. It'll beat sitting on the cold garage floor.

Just a heads up to double check your parts (the lift comes semi assembled) as soon as you get it.

If you call a help line and get some person in India or where ever that you can not understand, you can say you want to talk to someone who's English you can understand. They have to transfer you to an English speaking person.

Same here. There's a store 15 miles from me (never been there, didn't even know it was there) and mine got sent from CA, too. Seems they could have saved some money if they sent them from the nearest stores. They have to be losing money shipping a 70# box for $7US.

Conco75 --- That's not the exact same jack but looks very close. Maybe a bit sturdier. Good price.

Its amazing how they can sell them at that price. You certainly coudn't build one for near that.

Seems like there are only two speeds to lower it: Yikes, and Holy CRAP! It's pretty exciting...

I guess I can remove the plastic wrap from the handle now :wtf:
Thanks for the heads up on the two speeds for lowering the bike. When I get to use mine I'll keep it on the yikes setting. The holy crap one might drop the bike to quick.

First, MAKE SURE THE KICKSTAND IS DOWN!!! Then hold on to the bike and mash your foot on the pedal. Mine's been up and down more than my 1st ex wife and the bike hasn't fallen over yet. old c is definitely correct, though. Really Fast and You've Got To Be Kidding.

You DID get one of Idahos Jack Adapters, didn't you? If so, you'll need a few pieces of 2x8s or 2x10s. The whole assembly won't fit under the bike unless it's on the 2x?s. I found some scraps at Menards for .29 each. One each for the tires and one under the kickstand. I got 2x8s but I'll probably go back and see if I can find some 2x12 scraps. Once on the ground, the bike slid off the edge of one of the 2x8s. Didn't hurt anything but I still didn't like it.

Fedex delivered mine Saturday. We also have a store within an hour drive but it was shipped from California also.
