I love my Bar Chaps from Classic, they fit well and I can use them on cold days or snap them off in warm or hot days. Sure keep my feet and lower legs warmer and drier.

Made by Classic to fit the Vaquero and they make others to fit other models from Kawasaki.

I rode last winter for the first time with engine guard chaps. They make a world of difference when the temperature drops.

I still can't decide between hard and soft lowers. I've heard AirLite is a good brand, too.

BTW, welcome from Indiana.

I do like the looks of the Airlite, but doesn't appear they make one for the Vaquero. The Vaq with it's spoiler / radiator surround adds some extra challenges for these soft ones...

I definitely want something that is easy / quick on and off, and carry with in a bag until needed is a plus. At some point I will probably buy the chaps from Classic

I have the Chaps from Classic on my 2011 1700 Nomad and yes they work great. Nice fit real easy on and off. There are others but these work well.

Big plus is riding in the rain, my boots never get wet.

I have the Airlite and love them. Work great. They keep me warm and dry. Best part on in 30 seconds off in 10 seconds once you've done it a few times.

The one for the Vaquero from Classic go on in about 3 minutes and fold up into a bag without a problem, Them fit nice and snug, road in the rain today with 46 degree temps, used my frogg toggs and stayed dry and warm and especially my boots by using these from Classic Chaps.

They fit the Vaquero better than other ones I tried and sent back, so I would recommend Classic Soft Chaps.

I can't speak to the Airlites, but Jeff Faulkner at Classic Chaps will customize his engine guard chaps for your bike's particular needs -- I have my EZpass transmitter attached to my left-side guard and had the chaps made with a reinforced cut-out to accomodate it. Very little extra cost!
