I was not impressed with the new Victory tour.. Just seems "less". I thought I'd like it but as you can see I wasn't blow away..
Yea Scott that RG was bitchen... that dark red was beautiful in person but the GW.... Marie sat on the back seat and said, "OMG this is comfortable!" saw she had her own radio and heated seat and could hook into bluetooth and intercom and told me, "this is the ultimate". Really nice bikes all around but nothing really knocked my socks off.
She did think the Thunderbird looked tough.. GW was listed at 27K and the RG was 22K. She thought the GW "cockpit" looked like a 747's!! there must be 50 seperate buttons and switches... Now if I could find a HD dealer (I have) that would deal on the RG who knows??? I'd like the GW but I still work and don't have the extra time to ride 1000K miles a day everyday...
The paint schemes on the Voyager looked 100% Japanese paint. The Triumph, Harley and Victory's paint and chrome are so much deeper...
:bird: you Greg!!!! :lmao:

That's it? As far as all the buttons go, that's old school. I thought the RG Ultra was a little more than 22K?

The last time I was in a HD dealer was last May, they had several of their top models in a corner. They each were at the $34K mark. I guess they had everything on them. They were beautiful to look at, but with my pockets, thats all.

Those would have been the CVO models if they were around $34k.

I guess that is all they had in stock? High end models abound in a lot of dealers in this economy. I've gotten several calls from my local chevy dealer to trade my 2009 Suburban for a new one. Seems they had several 2011 models leftover that we zooted out and $60K. Thank you but no. I wouldn't buy another one anyway at any price.

The real test will be when you test-ride each models.
While sitting on them gives you an impression of sorts -- riding them is a whole different dimension.
Too bad at these shows you aren't able to test ride them.

In the Midwest in the dead of winter... I don't believe there are test rides. Maybe in California.
Regarding HD's Custom Vehicle Operations models... they are for those that need "butt-candy" and not likely for those that actually ride.
Can you imagine how you will feel when your custom chromed and painted $35-45k bike gets its first big stone-chip in the front fender? Or when you scratch the gas tank with something?
If you are riding your bike it is eventually going to have evidence of it being ridden. To me, dents, dings and scratches are a badge of honor... which explains why many times the most beat-up, dirty, scratched-up old bike that has seen many miles on it is typically what draws the crowd around it in the parking lot.:yep:

I wouldn't feel good about it, but then I am not spending $35-45K on a bike.
Teri Conrad lives on the west coast, so I imagine it makes sense that they have test rides there. She Rode a Victory and Kawasaki, and I saw a HD truck in one of the pictures too.

They used to bring the International Motorcycle Show here to Phoenix until a couple of years ago, and they had demo rides available. Obviously not in Chicago at this time of year, though.

Test rides for all the bikes were available if you had 12 hours to spare and signed up early.. the line for each manufacturer was about 100 yards long.. I didn't want to test ride that bad. The Vic and the Triumph reps inside all gave me a card and told me for $100 come down and they'd let me have a fairly new demo to take for the weekend, unlimited mileage.. Harley said $150 buys me 1 full day... I'd do that first before I buy. Nothing brings out a butt ass tiring ride like a 450 mile day.... That is the proof in the pudding as they say.. If i do rent one or all that's the test I'd give it..

Not at all from what I've seen/read. I'm also a member of RoadGlide.org. They RIDE and alot of them have Screamin' Eagles. They also get the normal dings, scratches, etc and just repaint or fix. If I was in the market for an HD, I'd buy the highest line model I could possibly afford mostly because I'd want to put a bit more beef in the motor and at least it would be covered under the warranty. (TBH, most of them over there brag more about their color of choice than the cubic inches.)

No, it's not what they say. It's "proof in the putting". As in, if you're going to put something somewhere, you're doing something. You could rephrase that and say something like "actions speak louder than words". Same thing. And, yes. This is my OC coming out. Nothing personal, mate.

Don't see what happening, Brad? Buying a fully loaded bike? I would as I like a warranty since I'm mechanically challenged. Doesn't mean I'll stop modding the bike. Sometimes, my frugality saves me money. Sometimes it costs me money (like the fairing I'm on now). I still try to do things to save money (unless you'd like to donate to the cause). :)

Monk, you should apply for the Langley grant.
It is meant to help those who don't wish to spend their own money.
Qualifications needed are;
willingness to smoke cigars
drink expensive hooch
winning the five pound burrito challenge.
* oh and being able to clog up the city sewerage plant afterward.
The rewards from this grant can be spectacular.
Apply today and have your ride looking great tomorrow.
Some of the rules to the grant process are truly meant to be unfair, therefore making it impossible to receive any of the monies that have been made available. Your ethincity, relgion and /or accent or just an unwillingness to keep your clothes clean and pressed could be grounds for a disqualification. Applicants should only be white, female, 21 years old with the notion that less clothes is appropriate.
Applicants with tattoos and peircings need not apply.

Maybe he's on a mission from God.
Trying to save Brad from a life of sarcasm and unjust deeds. Little did Dave know it would be an eternal endeavor. Very sad to see a life not reach it's full potential. Thank you Dave, for your efforts to make the world a better place to live in.
