Getting ready to pull the rear wheel to change the tire so I thought I would see what the Voyager looked like with the deflector shield and Nomad backrest installed.

I think it looks better with the tourpak. I do like the short windshield, though.

OK I'll bite, why did you remove the tour PAC and put on the Nomad back rest?

It's not always needed. It's nice when it's quick detachable. I suppose he could have put the vaquero backrest on and that would have been QD too. In fact, I bet that the Vaquero backrest could be modified to work with the voyager tourpak. Now you're talking.

Because it was there. :)

I removed the trunk to remove the trim that covers the rear shock so I could remove the rear shocks to allow the swingarm to drop so that I can remove the rear wheel to change the tire.

The nomad backrest is very easy to remove so I put it on the Voyager to see how it would look.

Also, the trunk provides a lot of backpressure and drag, so I wanted to see how the Voyager rode with just a passenger backrest on it.

Also, I might consider putting the trunk on the Nomad if I take a long summer trip on that bike.

Do you own the 1700 Nomad, Vaquero and Voyager?

I think it looks great!

Low profile windscreen and a backrest make the bags almost acceptable.

No. I was wanted the new black and green Vaquero but my wife and friends convinced me that it was too close to the Voyager.

I found the '09 Nomad recently at a price I could not walk away from.

The deflector windshield is the part that makes the bike look more like the Vaquero.

I wish Kawasaki would make a chrome plastic block off plate to keep the rear end clean for those that want to remove the trunk off the Voyager or the backrest off the Nomad.

to me you put together the ideal bike. If MA KAW is reading this PLEASE make the 1700 modular so we can buy this machine from the factory.

Yup. I'd consider the top loaders for that right there. You win. :)
