He definately has some good riding skills, It lets you see just what these bikes are capable of doing in tight areas. But Im sure he didn't get to be that good without dropping it a few times. A MC cop told me he dropped his bike at least 100 times learning those skills. Of course, it wasn't his bike, but if you are going to be that good you are going to drop your bike. Buck

I have been in a few of these rodeos over the years? The motorcycle rider, bike, and the crash bars take a beating learning to make these tight turns. It is really hard on the clutch, since it is being slipped thru the entire exercise. My Nomad and I dont play like this.

The hardest thing about these stunts is that because of all the clutch slipping its friction characteristics change during the run. By the end, it's really hot and wants to grab so you're slipping even more and stabbing on the rear brake a lot to keep it restrained. This is severe service at its worst.

Did any of you guys read any of the comments posted for that video? A lot of people were trashing this guy for obvious things, like dragging the frame and so on. Big deal I say. I watched the videos of the Japanese bike cop doing the speed runs, and just wasn't that impressed by it honestly. He looked more out of control than in control, IMHO.

Cadd, your comment brings up a question for me. What, if any, would be the difference in this scenario between the hydraulic clutch, and a mechanical clutch? The reason I ask is that when I took the MSF course, we rode the hell out of those clutches for two days and I never noticed a difference in how it grabbed. Granted, those were little 125 & 250cc bikes with mechanical clutches, but I don't know if that makes any difference or not.
